Well, no Gallo, no JAAAAA-VAALLLLLEE McGEEEEEEEEE. Rookie Head Coach, and some roster tinkering. Aside from them just being a deep team with no significant experience, and no real superstar, those other things can hurt a lot.
They were the 3rd seed last year now they're in lotto

& couldn't a happened to a nicer bag of than Ray.
what you is say like 6 months late ago late mofo

they're missing lawson bad, losing 9 games of the past 10 if I remember correct. Also, only marginal playoff teams are still playing hard in March while the top-seed and bottom ones are all starting to tank for different reasons.
Gallo is out for the season
Iguodala went to the Warriors
Coaching change
Lawson is injured now
Not sure if there's anything else going on but those 3 are pretty big reasons for their dropoff
Because Masai Ujiri went full re and fired George Karl
He's in Toronto now. It was the owner that fired Karl iirc.
yep, messiah ugenius was a karl fan.
so was i. shaw is balls.
Let's not act like they'd be any better if re Mcgee was playing or if Gallo was back. The team still has no star and lost the best coach equipped for their particular roster. Add in losing Iggy, Brewer and Miller and well….. you have a lotto team for years to come.
Firing Karl was a big mistake. He's looking like a genius right now.
A team full of 3rd options stopped overachieving tbh.
Jason Collins and Michael Sam stole Kenneth Farieds shine (lesbian parents).
And with 9:45 left in the 2nd...they finally crack double digits.![]()
The problem with teams like the Nuggets is that they buy their own false hype, tbh..
Check SpursTalk, RealGm and any NBA Forum last year, many delusional fans actually believed the Nuggets were contenders..people are overwhelmed by their hope for a team with no stars to win in the NBA, it blinds their ability to logically analyze a team..
They generated unrealistic expectations and couldn't meet them, leading to Karl's dismissal..
To be fair, Karl was an overrated coach to begin with.... what kind of coach literally doesn't have inbounds plays in their playbook? That ended up costing Denver their best shot ever at making the Finals, too.... then there was his stubborn clinging to certain horrible washed-up vets, his style of play that doesn't work in the playoffs, doing stupid like putting An_re Miller on Steph Curry for an entire playoff series, etc.... the Nuggets should have fired him sooner, tbh....
& that's who Phil was going to papoose upon arrival back in L.A.![]()
I don't think he's that bad, but transforming the team from playing a run and gun game to the triangle, and especially when your best big man is that monkeyballer manimal, it's a tall task. I think he would've done better if he had Nene (alongside Lawson/Gallo) to make it work... just don't see it with this roster.
Wouldn't it be good PR for the Nuggets if they let Jason Collins make a shot? This Nuggets team in' sucks. We are talking before getting Carmelo bad. This team is garbage.
As funny as it is to say it, even losing Nate Robinson for the season really hurt the Nuggets.
He's not the smartest player in the league, but he can take over games with his binge scoring tendencies and he was doing that for the Nugs before the injury.
