Isn't he like 19 years old? Late first-round picks that young tend not to make an impact, least of all because they're likely spending most of their time in the D-league. But you're right that that role is what the team needs.
That's what you were trying to say?
lol

Agreed, save for the fact that I don't think the season is lost at all.
The Spurs don't need a proven player for the spot, just one who can fill the void in emergencies.
It is if Parker can't regain his 2012-13 form. Patty Mills is a nice change of pace off the bench but he isn't leaing the Spurs anywhere in the postseason.
Obviously. But we won't know that for a couple months. The Spurs need their top eight to play lights out to overcome OKC. The team is playing at about 75 percent of its ceiling right now. Whether they can improve enough is remaining to be seen. But all the parts are still there.
Link to where they didn't? I'll wait.
Jeff ayres and Marco Belinelli using MLE money. No link needed!!!! I hope you didn't wait too long.
Sam Amick @sam_amick
Jimmer's deal with Chicago has been agreed on & he is en route to Chicago, I'm told.
So when is Antawn en route to SA?
When does Kobe enroute to SA?!
When Bonner becomes an annual clutch playoff performer.
Anything else happening?
well hopefully we can develop daye into a rotational guy before the playoffs.
1) Highly doubt that happens
2) While it'd be nice to have a legitimate backup SF, it's really not a big deal this year if we don't. We'll be needing Kawhi to play 36-40 mpg this postseason, and when he's not on the court, we can stick Green at SF. Only time we would REALLY need a backup SF is if Kawhi goes down with an injury, but tbh, if that happens we're ed anyways regardless of whether we have a decent backup SF or not.
Ariza with 40 points. I still can't they didn't take Bonner for him.
Still waiting. Haven't responded with any sort of intelligent remark or evidence yet.
Awesome, who's minutes did he take?
Kawhi playing 40 minutes a game, is a mistake and an injustice to his knee. Developing Daye is absolutely what they intend on doing, so hopefully that pans out.
Question...WHY DO PEOPLE KEEP THINKING THAT SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH KAWHI'S KNEE?
Unless one of you poster is an orthopedic doctor...then why do you think that?
This. None of Leonard's prior injuries are chronic in any way. He's just like any other young NBA player, and luckily for the Spurs he's one of their most important (behind TD and TP). He can play 40+ mpg in the playoffs. Hopefully he can avoid foul trouble but other than that they should be fine. As it is if any one of Duncan, Enrique, Leonard, or Ginobili get hurt they aren't winning a championship anyway and the FO more than likely understands this more than anyone.
Who the is Enrique.
Sure, they might intend on developing Daye...but not in time to be a rotation player in this year's playoffs. He just joined the team, what, one week ago? You really expect him to crack even the regular season rotation? Much less the inevitably shortened playoff rotation.
And Kawhi played 37 mpg in last year's playoffs. I expect him to play at least around that much this year. I really doubt that playing him 3 extra mpg would suddenly be horrible for his knee. I'd imagine the Spurs understand his condition a little better than you...so if they trust him to play those minutes, I do too.
