Buford.
Kawhi shooting above 50% from 3 since his return. If he can shoot close to 40% from there the rest of the way, it makes the Spurs very dangerous come playoff time tbh.
It's true. He does. But when TP is playing well, it's not as big of a deal.
His confidence is there. My that though
But but he's lazy!![]()
his outside shot looks much better too... more arc to it... maybe fluke, but that's that
I think I saw a rare TP to Kawhi assist tonight
Actually, I'd like to see him in the post against the many inferior defenders at the small forward position. Unfortunately, that's not a TP thing, that's a Pop thing, and they only do it like once in every game.
He was covered by Harris for a few possessions and Calderon once on a switch and they didn't look for him in the post at all IIRC..
It's difficult to post Leonard when Duncan and Splitter are both on the floor with him, but he's statistically the best perimeter post player in the NBA this season, they need to look for him more inside going forward, especially in games where Tim doesn't have it inside..
Agree. Leonard has a limited offensive role in the Spurs system.
Granted, that doesn't excuse "Tony not pass" when the kid is wide open but...if Pop doesn't say nothing about that, what the people want from Leonard? I saw Leonard demanded the ball in the post a few games before his injury and guys don't pass the ball to him, I think he has been outspoken enough to demand the ball.
People would be happy if he would blame -if he doesn't get enough touches- on what he feels about Parker's selfish play? That's could be a big locker room issue.
Leonard proved to be a force to be reckoned last season, so it's a coach's problem if he doesn't find a more offensive role for Leonard in the Spurs system.
Yes, his and Duncan's improved shooting makes last year's starting lineup much more viable. The team seems primed for another run.
His role is what it is at this point IMO. Hopefully he's a lock for 35+mins in the playoffs but I don't see Pop increasing his role on offense with a healthy TP and Manu playing well this late in the year. Not surprisingly, it's my biggest beef with Pop this season aside from Ayres seeing mins but I understand the difficulty with the injuries. It would also serve Leonard well to really work on his passing/playmaking as it does nothing but help his case for a bigger role.
Hopefully he can find some mins with the 2nd unit in a small ball lineup where I think Pop would be more likely to call post ups for him but so far I've been very happy with his play since coming back from injury.
Means Pop? I don't know why he doesn't give Leonard the green light to attack the rim and score in the post more often...
Parker and Pop tbh.
Pop can't call plays all the time.
There was one post up play he made today and it came from a TIM DUNCAN PASS...The same last game..Just a pass from TIM Duncan.
the guards needs to do a better job at recognizing matchups.
Kawhi does what he does when he gets the ball. We've seen him take spot up shots, we've seen him dribble into post position, we've seen him even take screen-rolls from the corner and drop nice pocket passes.
Just because the Spurs aren't dumping him the ball at the top of the 3 point line every possession doesn't mean they aren't using him. He's a forward, not our point guard. That said, I think in certain matchups they SHOULD target him more in the post. But for the most part I've been fine with his usage in his 3 games back. Let him keep playing defense
