with the cap expected to be at 150 million in 2 years, you guys will be fine
I think the raise in the cap only benefits the players. I don't see it as a relief for owners.

like i said in the main thread about the cap, the cap increase doesn't help spenders like my Raiders, since it will just drive up FA prices. however, for teams like Seattle or Baltimore, the cap increases will enable them to keep players they normally would have had to cut. these guys are more interested in retaining guys than signing big name FA's

While true, I don't think Paul Allen will have a problem with this.

The 9ers have reached an agreement on a two-year deal with Boldin. Dunno the terms yet.

EDIT: Terms are $12M/2 with $9M guaranteed. Not bad, but annoying if Boldin falls off a cliff.

Yeah, for a year or two maybe, if at all. Someone's contract is almost always up.

Of course. It might extend seattle's window though, and make the Flacco deal less crippling down the road. 20 mil per year on a 150 million cap is much easier than on a 120 cap

It makes Flacco easier to cut in 2016 if they have to. Functionally, that gives the Ravens more leverage when they renegotiate his deal in two years.

Anything over $8-10 mil is ridiculous. He's not a Superbowl winning QB and is inferior to Romo by a hefty margin. Niners would be better off letting him walk after next season. If he shows improvement and they win it all, then you can talk a Flacco-type deal.

    co-signed.

I knew he was going to want a huge payday, especially after the exposure he's gotten. I wouldn't mind a Flacco deal if they win it all though.

Depends on the price, obviously. I can't see SanFran getting more than a fifth, especially since his contract is half done.

Why did the Niners even draft the guy if they didn't plan on using his speed? He's not a banger and never was, ya get the guy out in space, not unlike what we see with Sproles. using him as a kick returner, stick his ass out in space. Pitch outs, dump offs, screens. He's obviously a situational player. They never used Ted Ginn Jr right either.

This situation makes me think more about the status of Lattimore, and how they plan (if they plan) to implement him into their schemes this year, and the extent of said implementation.

Was thinking that as well. I believe Latt was a fourth-rounder last year. That's a moderate investment. I imagine they'll give him a chance to pay off. I hope he does. It'd be a good story.

I expect Lattimore to receive tons of playing time. Gore ran out of gas late last season. I'd be surprised if Gore is the starting RB in 2016.
