Kaepernick and the 49ers have begun discussions about a new deal and according to theBoston Globe's Ben Volin, the former second-round pick is looking for something along the lines of Jay Cutler's recent contract that pays him $18.1 million per season with $38 million guaranteed.

Not sure why everyone is sucking his tbh. He had a bad season statistically and didn't play well towards the end and in the GB playoff game. Having a sub 60% completion despite having that line, decent weapons and that d is just pathetic. IMO CAm or even RG3 could put up better numbers if they were qbs for that team

Not sure what his defense has to do with his expected completion %, but I get your point Lincoln. They still are fairly run heavy, and he has reliable targets when throwing, and has a good line in front of him. People need to see that in the Harbaugh era, the Niners were just as successful with Smith as they have been with Kaep. Short memory I guess
simply they have no need to put up heavy points, so less risking needed, pretty straightforward tbh.

Alex Smith is top 5 QB in the AFC. I think he was held back by Harbaugh's conservative philosophy.
