Bulls didn't have it in them to go to the finals in 8 straight years. They got spanked with a rusty MJ, a tired old bag one would result in another spanking.
The Spurs's is easily the worst in modern history when you think about how absolutely ty the league was from dumb athletes getting fat during the lockout. The recent lockout doesn't even compare.
Didn't have it in them? They made the Eastern Conference Finals when Jordan was "retired". Does that sound like they wouldn't have won the championship had Jordan been playing also?
They made the semifinals without them. They did play with him in 95 and got spanked by the Magic with MJ averaging 31-6.5-3.7 and 2.5 steals and 1.8 blocks on .477 shooting.

You're right it was the 2nd round. Fact remains they won 55 games without him and the 2nd round of the playoffs. If Jordan was playing, they win 65+ games and the le. Jordan comes back the next year in March with most of the season over not enough time to work off the rust and after a year and a half, Bulls still make the 2nd round again. If Jordan doesn't ever "retire" Bulls easily 65 games both of those seasons and home court throughout the playoffs.
