Gregg Popovich, famously curt and sarcastic, revealed one of the secrets to the San Antonio Spurs' success in a moment of candid reflection Tuesday, saying empowering his players to communicate on the court as he does during timeouts is key to getting them to make the right decisions throughout a game.

Popovich, speaking to media before a typically efficient 122-101 rout of the host Cleveland Cavaliers, said he often mines the "compe iveness and the character of the player" in shaping them into confident, productive components of the Spurs' offense. [READ MORE --> CLICK HERE]

=ambchang;7171002Wish he said more during 6.
Coulda said it all back in training camp. "We'll foul up 3 and the opponent is the clock rain or shine, barn storming exhibition, Game 3, Game 82, 1st round, 3rd round Semi Finals, Finals Game 1, Game 2.... And here is how we're going to do it..." Then forever more you're not standing around during TO's and such wringing your hands, discussing, choosing and trying to figure out how in the to end it. You simply call the ball and viola, it's 5-5 and I'm on the Boy, Lazy style.

    POP is such a loser.

Any coach worth his salt would have fouled up 6, 28 secs left, then it's game over.

But POP's dumbass decides he wants to "work on defense", and get this, takes TD out to do it!!

Just another example of some brilliant idiot outsmarting himself.

Any other coach in the league on sidelines in that situation, and it's letown.

For Pop, it's epic choke town.

When I saw Pop get out-coached by Alvin "journeyman coach" Gentry and lose in the playoffs to him...I knew he was a complete fraud and very overrated. He got on Duncan's coattails and the rest is history. Its no coincidence we lost game 6 when he pulled Duncan. Pop thinks he's a genius but in reality he's a weak link in what is the San Antonio Spurs franchise.
