    To be honest, the Lakers have dodged the rebuilding process ever since they got Shaq and Kobe in the 1990s. They were able to reload and retool by attracting marquee names while retaining Phil Jackson and or Kobe. All teams, whether contending or not, must go through the rebuilding process, which happens to be more painful for storied franchises (Lakers, Celtics, and Bulls). The Spurs will eventually have to rebuild when Duncan and Manu retire, but I'm not sure if they would suck just as bad as the Lakers in recent years. The Lakers never developed any solid player in the draft class after Kobe (except Bynum), and their FO's main fault is relying exclusively on getting top players from other teams through trades.

    Don't get why media and Laker fans love Karl so much. He has been a good not great coach. Seen him overachieve with decent teams but choke with good talent as well. The Lakers roster is hore . Pau Meeks and maybe Farmar Only guys right now on squad that could crack top 7 of a rotation of a legit contender.
