There's no truly poor people in America. Being poor here still makes you comfortably one of the 1%
Your assumption is that the poor are poor merely BECAUSE they are lazy. The likely truth is that they are poor because they are paid like despite providing essential services that allow you and me to function. And now, the middle class (because of the plutocratic actions of Democrats and Republicans alike) is being pushed into that poor category as well. People everyday are finding out how hard work and sacrifice is no longer the key to success in this country.Yes, because America became great through high taxes, over regulation, appeasement, and a lack of confidence coupled with a "you didn't build that" at ude.

I get where you're coming from. However, you've gotta factor in the cost of living in this country. Just because we aren't Ukraine or Sudan doesn't mean we don't have a lower class. Go to any major urban area to see just how "comfortable" the homeless and those below the poverty line are.
