Back in the day the Steelers were the worst team in the league, they totally sucked. They had one stud player in badass fullback John Henry Johnson (back then it was the fullbacks who ruled, Jim Brown, Jim Taylor and John Henry the best in the league) as we know that all changed. A strong case can be made that those 70's Steeler teams were the best ever. They had these Hall of Famers...

    Offense

    Terry Bradshaw
    Lynn Swann....why?
    John Stallworth
    Mike Webster
    Franco Harris

    Defense

    "Mean" Joe Greene
    Jack Lambert
    Jack Ham
    Mel Blount

Only those Lombardi Packer teams rival that.

    ofense

    Bart Star
    Jim Taylor
    Jim Ringo
    Paul Hornung
    Forrest Gregg

    defense

    Willie Davis
    Ray Nitscke
    Willie Wood
    Herb Adderley

So if we take Superbowl/winning into account and what else matters, this is how the 32 teams would rank.

    1.Steelers
    2.Cowboys
    3.Niners
    4.Patriots
    5.Packers
    6.Giants
    7.Raiders
    8.Broncos
    9.Redskins
    10.Dolphins
    11.Colts
    12.Ravens
    13.Rams
    14.Bears
    15.Cheifs
    16.Buc's
    17.Saints
    18.Seahawks
    19.Jets
    20.Bills
    21.Vikings
    22.Bengals
    23.Eagles
    24.Cardinals
    25.Panthers
    26. ans
    27.Falcons
    28.Chargers
    29.Browns
    30.Jags
    31.Texans
    32.Lions

Winning a SB means everything so it carries a lot of weight.

The Raiders have fallen far. a decade ago they were the winningest team not only in NFL history, but in any of the 4 major american sports (in overall win%)

Yes they were and their battles with the Steelers as good as it got. They also had a truck load of Hall of Famers...

    Jim Otto
    Art S
    Gene Upshaw
Fred Biletnikoff (Branch belongs before Swann)
    Willie Brown
    Ted Hendricks
    Marcus Allen
    Michael Haynes

But, they don't match those teams ranked above them with their three SB wins.

The Patriots have 3 and you have them above the Packers and Giants, both of whom have 4

The Ravens should be above any team with fewer than two rings. I guess their age should take them out of serious discussions for any higher than that. Also, the Texans are probably at the bottom, and the Browns should be higher.

I did take into consideration the short lived Raven history.

The Lions have been around a long time and have never played in a SB. The Browns were a great team once upon a time so I will move them up.

Amazing that our team has left such a stamp on the history of the NFL with such a short tenure. We're lucky to have such a great franchise and leader like Ozzie. I don't disagree with much of Avante's list, solid all around.

The cardinals are too high on your list. They have to be the worst franchise ever.

They were a charter team of the NFL in 1898 but have only ever won 2 les of any kind ( 1925, 1947).

Their all time record is 511–716–39.

It's pretty hard to suck that hard.

I agree, what team did more sooner?

    Thank you

Actually it was 1899 and it wasn't in the NFL, they had all kinds of problems prior to 1918, dismantled a couple times. In 1920 they joined the old APFL.

Anyway, so where do we put them?
