And supers ion has it that we should be undefeated in finals. But at this point supers ions are thrown out the window
There is no revenge for choking up a le.
There is no revenge for TP coming up small as usual when the Spurs needed him the most.
There is no revenge for Manu turning the ball over, so horribly, that the Heat must have deposited 10m into his account for his contributions.
There is no revenge for Manu, the ultimate choker, missing a freebie that would have sealed it.
There is no revenge for Pop taking Duncan down out of the game, ON TWO STRAIGHT POSSESSIONS, when one defensive rebound would have sealed it.
There is no revenge for Green choking the latter half of the series.
There is no revenge for Pop coaching this Game 6 and 7 like it was just another Summer League Game.
There is no revenge for Pop having that waste of space, Matt Bonner, on the Spurs, and him getting actual playing time in the Finals against the Heat. Bonner probably gave up 100 points the entire series (that's probably being conservative), maybe hit a paltry 3 threes all series, and Game 6, a clinching game for the Spurs, went to overtime. Do the math.
There is no revenge for the fact that Duncan's Game 7 miss will haunt him forever, and yet he, at 37, was far and away the Finals MVP for the Spurs, and his teammates and let him down horribly.
There is no revenge for Pop being more demonstrative about kissing Lebron's ass, ie "congratulating him," than he was pushing his own Spurs to the finish line.
Doesn't matter if the Spurs beat the Heat by 100 in some useless regular season game. The Heat are winners when it mattered most. The Spurs and Pop, excluding Duncan, are losers, that fold at the first sign of adversity.
wtf... how many times did you cut yourself typing this
Refresh me. It was before my time here.
Any time your team comes close and doesn't win, it hurts and you remember it. Doesn't matter what sport or team it is. We get 5, I'm happy, but we're still gonna be saying "it should've been 6".
Even there you're hedging your misery.
6 is the rarest of birds. A once in a mankind event (God willing at least to last June) that should never have occurred and will most probably never occur again on the North American continent. That it happened to the Spurs is what is so mind boggling. If I had to pick one team that such a catastrophe should befall the San Antonio Spurs would be like number 30. I have to have Girl pinch me constantly so I know I'm not dreaming nigh on 9 months later.
Spurs were like 30 seconds away from beating the Mavericks in 2006 and advancing to the WCF where they would have dominated the Suns again and taken care of the Heat in the Finals until Ginobili fouled Dirk on the way to the basket giving him the and one to tie the game![]()
Keep advertising that turd to try to get value from it. It doesn't hide the colossal fest your team is producing in LA, but you're adept at deflecting ad nauseum to save your ass.
You're darn tootin'. Absolutely. I got 6. It's gonna see me thru. & why not, reverse it, have me & Kool cutting that sandwich down the middle and eating it. You guys wouldn't let us rest for a second. And you'd be within your rights.
And truth be told, you'll be better for this, for 6. It's like a Bar Mitvah, gettin' your head cheese cut off. Now, NOW, now yer a man.
Just don't do what you did the other nite. I was frankly appalled. I may have been a little too harsh on you, but, it was just awful.
Copy paste, got..
I never said I was "miserable". I don't care that much. Was just saying it always sucks to not win when you get close to it. Not just watching your fav sports team but any compe ion you enter in yourself. Just because you remember it doesn't mean you have "misery" over it. It's practically a footnote at this point. And if it isn't, it will be after this season.
that kind of stuff only happens against the mavericks or the jazz![]()
Not even Bosh can believe it

Would it still hurt? No.
Would it erase the fact that it was the biggest chokejob in NBA history? No.
No. Winning is winning. If the Spurs bounce back this year in the playoffs and win the Larry O'Brien trophy then 6 is just a distant memory. Winning erases bad memories. My Mavs winning in 2011 erased 2006 in my opinion. With my Mavs winning in 2011, the Mavs went from ringless and chokers to champions and winners. No one could talk about Dirk being a ringless choker and the Mavs being 0 and forever. Winning it all puts your team on the top for a short amount of time and you got take advantage of that time and enjoy the out of it.
The loss in 08 doesn't haunt/hurt Laker fans much at all after they won in 09 and got their revenge in '10. If the Spurs win the le this season, it would make up for it.
And if the Spurs win it all this year, they'd be the champs in an even numbered year they'd repeat as silver ball champions which would be a first.
That was worse than the finals last year in hindsight...because it was the Mavericks and because they would have three peated. It's the only elimination that still bothers me today.
That line of thought only works for the first le, the Spurs are well past that.
