Spurs had 5 in the trophy case last year so of course they have a chance.

"Get those mother------- ropes out of here," Allen hollered as the buzzer sounded, and off went the security guards, off went the duffel bags, off went the Spurs' championship shirts and hats eventually to impoverished regions of Africa as donations from the NBA.
After the Heat had won to force Game 7, Spoelstra retreated to his office and watched the last half-minute of regulation. "It crumbled me in my chair," he says. Breen went back to the Mandarin Oriental hotel and barely slept. Bosh went out to dinner and barely ate. "What's wrong with you?" friends asked. "What happened tonight," he replied, "never happens."
    "But it happened!" they said.
"I know," Bosh explained. "We could play out that scenario a million times and maybe we win twice."

No math wiz, but what % does Bosh place on who close the Spurs were to a le last year?
According to win probability, the Heat had about a 6% chance of winning when RayRay hit that three:

Even by the low standards set for threads started by Laker trolls, this one is remarkably stupid.

Six NBA teams have been billed for luxury-tax payments they owe for last season's payrolls, according to official league figures obtained by ESPN.com.

And the heftiest, not surprisingly, belongs to the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Lakers will be forced to pay more than $29 million in luxury tax for a team that -- thanks to a steady stream of injuries and L.A.'s well-chronicled chemistry problems -- barely squeaked into the playoffs and will go down as one of the biggest underachievers in league history.

Come on. maybe if you talking about in all situations but a team like the spurs with great closers and the best coach in the game has to be much more of a lock.
Spur fans how many games have the Spurs lost like that in the Tim/Pop era ...none?!
My guess you could make it 0.6.

Ha! Ha!. Dead Last and the Lakers are over the luxury tax threshold. That is hardly rebuilding. That is called injuries and just plain sucking. Lakers will be rebuilding (sucking) for awhile.

Yep woe down and out for at least 3 years. Maybe we make the playoffs before then but we wont be contenders for at least 3 seasons and when you add the last two that is at least a 5 year drought of being irrelevant from the le convo. Lakers have not been legit since 2011-2012 which ended in a Sweep by dem Mavs.

"This year, we all know it's been a real tough year for us, right?" Bryant told Power 106, according to Lakersnation.com. "So what I'd like everybody to do is to really just sit back and just absorb this year. Take it all in. Sit back and watch and listen and hear all the hate that's being thrown at us and remember every person that's kicking you when you're down, because next year it ain't gonna be this way.

"Appreciate it now. Let it sit in now, because revenge is sweet and it's quick."

Bryant, meanwhile, hasn't been able to help. He missed the team's first 19 games while recovering from a torn Achilles in his left leg suffered last season, returned to play six games, then was sidelined Dec. 17 with a fracture of the lateral tibial plateau in the knee.

Bryant told Power 106 that proving those who had a lack of faith in the Lakers and his recovery wrong is what fuels the five-time NBA champion now.

"You've got to appreciate that and enjoy that and use that as fuel as motivation to basically just shut everybody the up," Bryant told the radio station, according to Lakersnation.com. "It's that challenge, that challenge that drives us all, I think, and definitely keeps me going."

Kirby manipulating the media per the usual.... notice how he deflects this season to the "haters" instead of owning up to running Dwight offPERIOD and signing an extremely selfish contract.... that means he can spew more of his fake-compe ive crap that Media laps up by talking about "proving the haters wrong" and "getting revenge"

In reality, we all know he's loving the fact that the Lakers are finally consistently losing without him

Might as well get a head start on rebuilding our franchise and getting the 'next' big thing. It's complete garbage to be happy over being 1st in the Western Conference if you have 0% chance of winning the trophy.

Spurs fans, don't get your hopes up again. There's no chance at the ring unless Pacers and Heat have a plane crash.
I'd feel the same way if my team had your record.
