Raiders are so predictable![]()
having the most cap space in NFL history
not franchising tagging either of your best players when your roster sucks
jared veldheer reuniting with Carson Palmer
he signed for 7-7.5 million per year
you replaced him with ing Rodger Saffold
Saffold is getting MORE than Veldheer got
Reggie McKenzie
"Packers West"
3 years of eating dead contracts and clearing cap room just to let your only good players walk away
Raiders
Raiders are so predictable![]()
we literally could have paid less and kept veldheer, go signed for about 7 mil per year as i predicted he would get signed for. this makes no ing sense
reggie mckenzie
worse than al davis
going to draft manziel behind that "oline"
behind this line we might as well ride out Pryor for another year
and resign mcfadden![]()
is lane kiffin available?
The thing about the Raiders is all those change of possesion penalties. I've never seen a team have more totally stupid penalties at the worse possible time. And I;m not raggin' on them, I like the Raiders, they've had a lot of interesting
players. They need some discipline.
While here...
McFadden is too "delicate" to play big boy football.
i don't envision a scenario where mcfadden returns. i'm just baffled by letting Veldheer walk... he was the best player on our roster, and we have all the cap room in the world, plus he signed a very fair deal with arizona. nothing adds up
What really sucks is you guys play in the best division in the AFC. With everyone but the Raiders having a QB. I'd love to see the silver and black come back but it's not looking good. The league is better when the Raiders are relevent.
they deserve any LOL in the book... i'd rather have signed him for 10 mil a year like that bogus report![]()
i would have defended them if they just took a wait and see approach, maybe sign some cheap dudes and then solve the problem in the draft, but signing saffold for the same money makes no sense tbh..
reports say its more money than JV got![]()
that's the "i have to play for the damned raiders" tax tbh![]()

at least its a one year deal for dmac
can we trade Reggie McKenzie for Jim Buss? He'd be a massive upgrade
so... all this cap room, and on the first day of free agency, with guys like veldheer and houston leaving on pretty affordable deals (thought they'd get paid more), with guys like Verner signing for cheaper than originally thought, the raiders sit there with their thumbs up their ass, only signing Saffold and bringing back McFadden on a 1 year incentive laden deal. how the are we gna fill up our roster
are we gna have to overpay ty scrubs just to reach the salary floor?
Is Veldheer worth anything?
Not sure what to make of that signing.
You guys got a really good deal. I'm in total shock that he wasn't brought back, especially considered the terms of the contract he signed. I'd understand if they let him walk because the market price was outrageous, but 7 mil per year is more than fair for him.
Glad to hear it. I know he's coming off an injury, so I figured that helped keep value low, but I'm just so jaded with lineman signings/draftings from the Whisenhunt era that I see injured tackle sign to longer-term contract and I just automatically assume the worst.
Hoping he and Cooper (last years 1st-round OG) can really change the culture on the line.
Let's Arizona use it's 1st on defense, which it needs in either at linebacker (you mother er, Dansby), or CB.
Schefter saying you got OT Austin from the Jets for 5/30.
Yeah I recall the Cards drafted a guard in the first and he never got a chance to play. Sucks because O-line had already been their achilles heel and they actually addressed it, but didn't get to work out year 1. I think they'll be much improved. Palmer showed he can still throw well, but he requires a clean pocket. Word is Palmer personally vouched for Veldheer. With him and Cooper, they should look much better. They should look to draft a bell cow running back imo.
In other news, the Raider just signed Austin Howard, the Jets RT, and I have read really good things about him all offseason. I'm glad the Raiders did something with the line, but I'm still really shocked they actually let Veldheer slip away like that. Ram fans seem to think Saffold is good when healthy, but he's never healthy. It's also weird because we drafted a tackle in the 2nd round last year, and he was mostly hurt. I wonder if they're going to make Saffold just a really overpaid guard, where most say he is at his best anyway.
^Why would they give $14M per year to former Jets linemen?
