Any player signed for the last roster spot would just be an insurance policy.

i just dont see how turner helps us at all anyways... now thaddeus young is another story!
Any player signed for the last roster spot would just be an insurance policy.
disagree, you dont trade for turner as an insurance policy, you trade for him to play him 20-25mins/gm at least
Not a big deal he would be warming the bench anyway.
Austin Daye > Evan Turner

Glad it fell through tbh. He's been absolute dog for Indy. Now if it was for Thaddius Young on the other hand...
Wow I'm glad it fell through too. Turner has been an absolute BUST and I thought the media singing his praises when he got traded to Indy was just ridiculous.
What's more curious now is what we would have traded to get him. Probably our 1st round pick and De Colo...
He hasnt been playing that well for Indy anyways. Plus, he wouldve had to compete against Manu, Green, Leonard, and Beli for rotation minutes. Good luck with that...
He would have been an awful fit, tbh..
Brett Brown did us a favor tbh...
send him to a possible finals opponent
Spurs need a Amir Johnson/Jason Smith type of guy more than anything
or a 3 who can guard KD or Serge Abaka so we can trap/switch pick and rolls vs OKC with Leonard
Spurs front office never tries to make moves involving name players.
I strongly doubt it. I feel their first would have been enough to be Indy's offer. Plus Turner sucks. This is just something we all know by now.
Blah blah blah, we hear this bs every year about a strong push for a player but it falls through at the last minute or was close! Spurs keep winning, period.
Wish the Spurs would have been more enthusiastic about Bynum when he was brought out.
Considering he was traded for $500k and a late second round pick, I still think he would've been worth the flier if we gave up something equivalent.
We don't bring in guys with ty character. We just don't.
the Spurs acquired 2 dudes who quit on their team, Jackson (quit on Bobcats, Warriors, & Bucks, not to mention feuds with all 3 coaches), & Boris Diaw who had a ty work ethic, & quit on the Bobcats. Luckily Diaw has been a great fit, tho he was no saint prior to being claimed by the Spurs.
He's not worth a first rounder. Thankfully this trade never happened. Would have been a horrible fit too(high usage, low efficiency player)
Funny that he was drafted before players like DMC, PG...
Guy was traded for a bag of chips, lol "strong push". Was probably the rights of Hanga and Ryan Richards + Bonner or something...
Anyway I don't see the point of trying to get Turner and passing on Granger... We already have Turner 0.9 on the roster with BelinoD...
was never hot on evan turner. Would love Thaddeus Young someday.
Jackson was strictly a financial transaction who was cut when he did manifest bad at ude. He was also not "signed", he was traded for, and it saved the Spurs $11M.
Boris really never quit on Charlotte. Their coach just couldn't get him to shoot. Sound Familiar?
this is agree with, but we talking about popovich. noone knows what's going on in that man's head
