Almost here. I cant wait to be there live Saturday night in the home of the mavs. The crowd should be crazy for Hendricks

Johny Hendricks vs. Robbie Lawler for vacant welterweight le - Big Rig has really evolved into a great fighter. Lawler is dangerous, but I just don't see him winning.

Carlos Condit vs. Tyron Woodley - Condit has his well do ented issues against wrestlers, but I have a feeling that he will be able to dictate the pace of this fight and wear down Woodley.

Myles Jury vs. Diego Sanchez - Maybe I'm not giving Jury enough credit, but this is going to be a firefight and Sanchez put up an amazing showing in one of those against Melendez last time out...

Hector Lombard vs. Jake Shields - It's hard to pick against "boring" Jake Shields if he's not fighting a top 5 guy.

Nikita Krylov vs. Ovince St. Preux - Not sure how I feel about Krylov, so I'm going with the more well-know commodity (and the better athlete).

Dennis Bermudez vs. Jim Hettes - If Bermudez keeps this fight on the feet he'll get the win.

    Hendricks comes in at 171.5...

guess who said he could make 170 tonight:

    UFC @ufc
Someone is fired up over here! @nickdiaz209. Hendricks just arrived for 2nd weigh in. #ufc171 vine.co/v/MbF6v1h2uhv

Hendricks makes 170 on second attempt; he did seemed surprised he missed weight in the 1st place, based on his reaction after hearing the weight called out.

  9. #34
It took Gastelum three tries to make weight...

  10. #35
If Johny is going to continue to fight at welterweight, he needs to have a more controlled diet even when he's not training. Dropping 50 pounds two or three times a year just isn't healthy. And it's just going to get harder as he gets older. Maybe instead of walking at 215-220, he can walk at 195-200. Those 15-20 pounds would make a huge difference in cutting and making weight.

    Lawler
    Condit
    Diego
    Lombard

Look for Hendricks to gas if he can't get Robbie out of there in 2 rounds thanks to a horrible weight cut..

Hendricks leading with his face costs him tonight. The only way he doesn't get knocked out is if he shoots early and often. He stands with Lawler and he's going to sleep.

    Well damn...that sucks for Condit.

Woodley went all dumb negro in the interview. He got hurt stupid. It happens. To be honest...there's a better than average chance Condit subs him sometime late in the second or in the third.

Those boys just destroyed each other.

Not sure why Hendricks has a boner right now. He got exposed in back to back fights tbh

Both are going to need time off.
They took some longevity off each other's careers.

Great fight. Lawler looked like he had in the bag going into the fifth but gassed badly. Props to Hendricks. He hung in there and won the belt.

Joe Rogan a company guy promoting a new champ as a great champ etc.

They want to promote Rory to fight for a le. Well so be it and make Woodley vs Lombard for the next shot.

Too bad Condit got injured cause he was starting to increase the pace.l

I didn't see the fight I was just following round by round stuff on twitter.. The UFC is suing streamers these days so I am not even streaming anything anymore. But it seems like Robbie had the fight in control through 4 and laid an egg in the 5th round. These judges today love guys that finish the fight strong Jones/Gus, GSP/Hendricks. The sentiment was going to go with Hendricks coming off that GSP decision. There are a lot of guys at WW that can beat Hendricks IMO. He won't have a GSP like run at WW and we'll see if GSP comes back in about a year.

I am so disappointed for Condit. I was really hoping he was going to rise up and win the belt but it looks like he won't ever wear the strap now. You only get so many chances to cash in on momentum before your time is up. Sadly I think his time and chance to be a champion is up..

I see we have Nick Diaz talking about Hendricks wanting a le shot.. To me easily the most exciting fight for Nick out there is Rory. Rory and Nick 5 rounds you can even do it in Canada to make it bigger. Diaz will sell those wolf tickets big time and Rory would love the fight too. If Nick is only excited to fight if the UFC is gifting him le shots than sorry Nick back into retirement you go..

That was disgusting, I am a Joe Rogan fan but he completely tried so hard to discredit Lawler the whole fight.

It doesn't really have anything to do with finishing strong. Hendricks won rounds 1, 2, and 5, very decisively. Robbie handily won 3 and won 4 by a small margin.

Eh, as Lawler just showed us, guys can go for a long time these days, and Condit doesn't fight heavy anyway, I think he'll make another run at it. He's a brilliant fighter, so he'll find a way to be a factor going forward. Too good not to. Will he win a le? I don't know. I can't see him being champ for a while after losing to Hendricks, but then again Hendricks didn't look super impressive against Lawler.

I don't see this. Nick has lost two fights in a row. I don't even think he deserves Robbie at the moment. Rory should get a le shot, and I would like to see either Zombie or Ellenberger fight Woodley for the next in line.

Woodley's comments really bothered me, tbh. How ing stupid can you be, "Oh yeah I totally set that guy up to tear his ACL!" What kind of fighter would even want to admit to that. What a stick of a comment. Hopefully it was just in the heat of the moment, but even though, I hope he gets his head torn off next fight to give him a little humble pie.

As a Rory fan I would love to see him get the le shot, but I wouldn't be too disappointed if they gave it to Woodley simply because I think a Hendricks-Woodley fight would be very entertaining.

I know that they don't mean much, but the UFC "official" WW rankings have Rory at #2 and Woodley at #4.

Hendricks would bury Woodley right now, IMO. He's just too skilled at every area. Woodley might be stronger, but Hendricks has more power in his fists and would dominate him if it went to the ground.

Might be an entertaining fight but I'd only give Woodley 2 rounds before the lights go out.
