Wow, I didn't know they gave up Noel and a top 5 protected 2014 first. Philly won huge in that deal.
Big time. I actually really liked the idea of a Noel/Davis pairing too, could work the way Duncan/Splitter works. In fact, as Davis would rather shoot the mid range than bang in the post I think they would be an excellent pairing.

The Sixers really could be a force going forward. MCW/Wiggins/Noel could be a great core to build around, along with Pelicans pick and their own 2015 1st which will likely be high again. If they don't draft the equivalent of Austin Rivers (oh dear Pelicans) they could be great, gotta expect they'll end up with at least one good player from all their 2nd rounders too.

I doubt it. MCW puts up stats on a horrible team, so it's hard to get a handle on how good he is yet. Noel is a huge question mark since he has constantly been injured. I think he missed something like a year and a half of high school ball with knee injuries too. But what a defensive prospect he is if he can ever get and stay healthy. As for their draft picks, those are all huge question marks, since there is no Duncan, no LeBron, no Durant, etc in this draft. I mean no one you'd bet your kids' college fund on being an MVP level player. NBA history is littered with great looking college stars like Michael Beasley, Evan Turner, Derrick Williams, Hasheem Thabeet, OJ Mayo, Drew Gooden, Adam Morrison, Marvin Williams, Mike Dunleavy, etc who never amounted to anything. That's a really long rebuild Philadelphia has ahead of them.

Oh I agree it's far too early to tell, but regardless of how good MCW turns out to be it's pretty clear that Philly did very well in last years draft. I'd say at worst estimate they've ended up with 2 of the best 5 players out of that draft, and either of Noel or MCW could end up the best player from the 2013 class.

I think worst case scenario, barring any trades, is that Philly becomes the 2010 Atlanta Hawks. A few good players who are #2 or #3 guys (Horford, Johnson, Smith, Crawford) who will get them to the playoffs but have a 2nd round ceiling and were never true contenders.

Best case scenario, they get a star and a strong role player in this draft, Noel puts on 30lbs and becomes an all-defensive player and MCW blossoms in to a Top 5 point guard. Throw in another solid player in next years draft and they could be contenders.

Who knows how it will play out, but I think they are in a great position. Still don't know why they traded away Spencer Hawes though, dudes a baller.

I watch MCW play and I really like him. He is tall, good court vision, like to attack the basket. I like him. He could end up being a bust but atm I like him.
PHI has 2 1st round picks and 5? 2nd round picks this year.
MCW, Young, Noel...this year pick could be huge.
Would PHI take Embiid if available? Can Noel and him play together.
Noel is already playing and theres a chance he gets a few minutes this season (at least I read that a few days ago). PHI probably knows how good or bad Nowl is.

But YES, PHI is in a great spot. Hope it works out.

I can't see it as being in a great position when your roster has 3 NBA quality players (MCW, Noel, and Young) and is on a 21 game losing streak. People used to say the same about Cleveland, and look how they have turned out. And Philly has no one as good as Kyrie Irving.

Philly is just punting on future potential and not even on current potential. Depending so much on the draft lottery is not always going to be successful. I suspect the 76ers will have a very long rebuild.
