NO.....but People do it to Lebron all the time...they back off this and dare him to shoot....no one and I mean no one ever backed off MJ and Kobe...they knew better....this is a ing joke....

Whatever the problem is, James has rewarded the Spurs for the way they’re defending him. Basically, they’re not defending him on the perimeter, inviting him to shoot jumpers.

Here are James’ nine mid-range shots (from between the paint and the 3-point line) from Game 3. He was 1-for-9.

And yet LeBron has more total points than Kobrick did at this stage in their career's and Kobrick took more shots...imagine that.

Such a dumb argument, they back off because if Lebron gets to the rim it's over. Lebron is much better in the paint than Kobe could have ever dreamed, so there wasn't as much incentive to back off him. And also considering Kobe's ty field goal percentages I'm sure defenses are pretty happy letting Kobe do what he does

In the 2001 playoffs vs Spurs Kobe averaged 25 8 6, which is pretty much the same Lebron averaged last year(Lebron shot 3% higher & had 2 more boards a game, but took the same amount of shots to average less than a point more) , only that Kobe was only 22 & he actually had to deal with one of the better perimeter scorers of his era.

Kobe often faced double teams & shot contested jumpers while defenders dared Lebron to shoot wide open jumpers outside 16 feet, which he still struggles to shoot this very season.

Prime Lebron: 37.6% outside 16 feet this season
22 year old Kobe: 40,6% outside 16 feet while having taken 3 times the amount of shots Lebron has taken this season outside 16 feet.

Capri, the Spurs were literally ting their pants guarding Shaq despite triple teaming the fat bas . Kobe had a 37 year old Terry Porter & Antonio Daniels guarding him.

Kobe was doubled by guards and Shaq was doubled down low....the both were doubled and all the time....Shaq was easier to pick apart because all you had to do was foul him he was a liability at the FT line..remember Hack-A-Shaq

Right but that's not an argument, again backing up against exploits the closest thing he has to a weakness. It's like fouling shaq intentionally and sending him to the line, shaq's lower free throw numbers don't mean he's worse than kevin garnett was. It's just his weakness. Lebron's closest thing to a weakness is his perimeter shot, the numbers will show it just as the eye test will. that is why they concede that shot, and sometimes it works well (see spurs heat games 1-6) and sometimes it fails miserably (see game 7). That's like saying lmao kobe sucks so much look at the assists and rebounds number. Lebron isn't a great shooter and is a far superior driver to just about any wing the game has ever seen, it is why people back off. Kobe was never on that level and had a pretty serious jumper, that's why people didn't sag off.

Btw how much does it kill you that pretty much every argument with kobe features words like "had" and "used to" when talking about his talents.

All 3 were complicit, Scany. It reminds me of the Kupchak/Odom debacle. You would think that Kupchak would have learned something from the earlier blood feud, but, no, he baited Odom then engaged him to the point of no return. We've suffered from that catastrophic event and will do so for years to come. Jackson was the father, Bryant & Daddy the children. Jackson did not go far enough and let it die on vine so that 10 years later "we're" citing & lamenting it and will be until time runs out. Bryant & Shaq had no vision past their own needs and failed their fan base shamelessly.
