Strong has said that Wickline is the OC but Watson has the "One, final voice" according to 24/7...Watson's final say could be based on his
role as the Asst. HC ?? That's my thinking on how this is going to play out between the offensive coaches.
What do you guys think about Strong saying Watson will be calling plays even though Wickline was supposed to be OC? Seems like an odd situation at best to me.

I was watching an interview on ESPN and the announcers indicated that the reason the OC label has not been placed on wickline could simply be a buyout issue with OSU. They indicated there was a clause in his contract with OSU that if was hired into an OC position then a buyout was to be obtained. Not sure how factual this is but I will try and find out some more info on the matter.
Yeah, that's been tossed around as a possible explanation. I think that's it, personally. I'm sure he'll be involved in the design of the offense and will have a lot of input, but having Wick call the plays never made sense.
Meet new WRs coach, Les Koenning:

I've read some time in April, but there's no definitive date that I've seen. I'm a little confused now because 2016 DT Darius Anderson of Fort Bend Hightower mentioned there was something going on next weekend on the 29th, but it's possibly just more juniors coming in to watch practice and they've invited a few sop res too. I'm expecting the timing of Sop re Day to be closer to the spring game.
24/7 saying A&M DT Isaiah Golden has withdrawn from school to work on personal problems, but is expected back for fall camp.
Go ahead an add CB Roney Elam of Newton to the list of attendees for saturdays practice. He told the guys at nola.com that he would be there.
The visitors list is pretty stout with two days left to get others scheduled.
Hopefully there are several more. Need to get Siverand and Lodge back on campus too.
Great idea here by UT to get Strong and the new staff face time around the state:

I hope coach Strong has been in touch with Kevin Shorter and that Shorter is in Elam's ear.
I've read the Newton staff was impressed that Mack honored Shorter's scholarship after hurting his neck, and then Strong kept him as well.
Apparently that gave Elam a lot of confidence in Texas and Shorter's been after him.
ing sweet. I'll be at the one in Tyler for sure.
Doesn't hurt that his twitter handle is @D1_Longhorn99
Notes from OrangeBloods...
-TE Jordan Davis of Houston Clear Lake, an A&M verbal, is supposed to decide tomorrow if he will be visiting campus this weekend.
-2016 QB Brennen Wooten of Marble Falls will be at practice tomorrow.
Rumor on OrangeBloods that CB Roney Elam of Newton could commit while on campus this weekend.
Just something to look out for.
Per 24/7, CB Jaylon Lane of Nacogdoches (committed to Ole Miss) will be on campus this weekend with his family.
"I love Texas," he said. "I believe with the recruits they're bringing from the class of 2014 along with a player I played against, Lorenzo Joe, I believe they will turn the program back where it needs to be."
"They have a great staff. They did a great job at Louisville and I know they will bring that to UT and get to work and put UT at the top again."
"Just (Texas) being great with their DBs,” Lane said. “I know I will fit well there and if they offer for sure I will be thinking hard and they will be in my top schools."
24/7 saying 2016 CB Jared Mayden of Sachse has set up a visit for March 29th and then will return for the spring game in April.
A source is telling them they expect Mayden to be a Longhorn before the summer is over.
More on 2016 CB Jared Mayden of Sachse from 24/7...y'all may have seen this kid mentioned earlier in the thread, but Mayden has reached out to 2016 LB Jamarion Caston of Daly City, CA basically telling him he needs to get on campus. Turns out they'll now be attending the spring game together and possibly one of the summer camps in June.
“I can’t wait to come in and see the program in action,” said Caston. “Texas has a great athletic program. I like the sound of what I hear about Coach Strong. I want to learn a lot more about their academic program as well, because I’m interested in going to school for engineering.”

Recent quote from 2016 RB Kameron Martin when asked if he'll receive an offer soon and if he'd commit (24/7):
“Oh I’m waiting on it,” Martin said. “What do you think?”
Offers from LSU, Bama, A&M, Baylor, etc. Not bad for a 3 star.
" Rivals250 tight end*Jordan Davis*has been committed to Texas A&M since June, but the standout prospect is still talking to Texas Tech."

Interesting timing...

Nacogdoches DB Jaylon Lane has decommitted from Ole Miss. Will visit #tamu this spring.
Quick quote from '16 OT Dixie Wooten III of Pasadena Dobie (he transferred this year from a KIPP program), from 24/7.
“I haven’t gotten any mail or anything like that,” he said. “I’ve been trying to get my name out there but it’s been sort of tough. I know that, after I moved to Dobie, the Texas defensive coordinator saw me when he was in the office. The coach from Boise did too."
“I would love to play in the SEC – I’ve always said that,” he said. “I’ve talked about playing in the SEC for the longest time. I’m good friends with (Hightower sop re defensive tackle) Darius Anderson and we talk about playing together in the SEC or at Texas. Texas A&M is in the SEC and it's an in-state school so that's another one I like too."
