Duncan would have the 5-5 stick right now if it weren't for Pop ing up when they needed it the most
A stat that many people don't realize. Duncan is only 16 double/doubles away from the all time double/double record in recorded modern NBA history. Karl Malone is the only guy that has more. Duncan has more double/double's than guys like Hakeem, Shaq, Ewing, Magic, Garnett, Stockton, Barkley,ect... Just look at tonights game...Duncan has 9 and 8 in 15 minutes and Pop sits him. For the last 3-4 years...Popovich has treated Duncan with kid gloves and its been a horrible coaching mistake just like game 6 last year proved. If Pop played him regularly...Timmy would have the record already....easily. Now let me just say....its skewed in the fact that Wilt and Kareem would have more double/double if all NBA history was recorded. But fact remains...the top 3 double/double players in NBA history will be Wilt, Kareem, and Duncan. And Timmy still marching up the All Time Points....Rebounds.....and Blocks list. Duncan is the best player of his generation.

He'd trade every set a chaps & poopers he has for that one he gave back to the Heat.
He didn't give anything back.
Pop is the one who handed that trophy to the Heat on a silver platter.
Get some originality, stop leg riding someone who already repeats that ad nauseum.
A Mavs fan leg riding Dale. Now that's impressive considering the Mavs krew curfew on the parrot just a year ago.

That's right, HA, do work. Defend your Poster of the Month le.
And of course, you are correct. TD is the BEST of his generation.
It's not close.
Welcome back, Gal. Nice to have unbiased Spurs fan back before the playoffs. Been awhile.
Hopefully, Silver and hiss boss Stern, and their usual goon squad of refs, will allow for a fair playoff run.
If so, barring injury, Spurs will cruise to 5. no matter who they play.
Only pussies & assholes blame the officiating &/or play the injury card.
Duncan with another double/double tonight. Kobrick with another DNP.
Do work son!!!
Is OP really comparing "sitting Duncan on the most crucial posession in a Finals clinching game" and "sitting Duncan regarding stat chasing"?![]()
Re-marry yet, EZ?

Even if you only includes wins, no way he he has more than Wilt Chamberlain.
Deuce Bigalow
basketball reference doesnt credit double doubles before a certain year, which explains why wilt/russell aren't there. its not a matter of the guy cherrypicking, its just a flaw in bballreference
48 what, EZ? Females you've bedded in your desceased wife's memory?
Actually his stats are correct - no cherry picking at all. Problem is basketball reference only has game logs available going back to the 1985-86 season. So yeah, Duncan does have the most double-doubles in games won from 1985 onwards. One thing that stands out from your list is Kareem. He played more games than anyone else on that list yet he's only 4th in double doubles. Weak rebounder.
