We have plenty of players that can catch and shoot, we need players that can create and get their own shot.

He looks good. Couple of nice drives there mixed in with the shooting. Hopefully they bring him over this summer.

looked good for a guy coming back from an ACL tear tbh. With Jean-Charles staying over in France next season, it'll be interesting to see if the Spurs bring Bertans over during the summer. Him and Daye look like comparable players and suitable replacements for Bonner's role next season, might be a good idea to bring em in during camp to battle it out.

yup thats him.. he has great size for a sg & like to attack the basket. i would say this is the most athletic guy the spurs have had since rj..when the coaches fine tune his game , he might have the potential to be a star in the nba.

Did you watch the clip? He displayed pretty much every perimeter skill in a single game...straight line drive, reverse layup, shot off dribble using pick, catch and shoot using off ball screen, and spot up.

Well Bonner is gone and so should Pendegraph/Errors so I think there is room for Bertrans and Daye would be interesting to see them both on the floor together.

I agree with Rob we need a slasher/scorer who can create and I think Hanga fits that bill he could be a good sixth man on the team and learn from Manu who will probably play one more year.

Looks decent. But.... who do you release in the team for him to be picked up by the Spurs?

They wouldn't have to release anyone. There are open roster spots for 2014-15.

6'10, can shoot, create his own shot, work the paint a bit? looks like a Diaw replacement in a couple years.

Kid looks like he can ball though. Hopefully we bring him over this summer. Would be a great ginger replacement for Bonner.

LJC, Bertans, Hanga, Kawhi = Spurs obviously think length is a huge part of the future success in the NBA

I hope all 3 of them are stars

based on the clips I've seen of him, his game reminds me a lot of Danilo Gallinari. maybe its the ACL tears but if the kid is anywhere near Gallo's level then that Kawhi trade should be reviewed by a committee tbh.

I spent all ofFebruary and most of March in Riga, Latvia. My Latvian friends who follow basketball say he's been slow but steady in his recovery, but nobody expects Davis to be 100% until next fall or so.

Just in time for the NBA season!

Solid comparison imo. Might not ever quite get to Gallinari's level (was averaging 16 ppg & 5 rbs before his ACL tear) but same size and his game mirrors Gallo's and in our system his style should flourish as a role player imo.

One of the San Antonio Spurs' commodities overseas, forward Davis Bertans, will be heading to the Alamo City for some training with the team*once his season is over in Europe.

According to his agent Arturs Kalnitis (via Sportacentrs.com), Davis will spend the full summer in San Antonio to train with the team once his season with Partizan in the Serbian League is over.

"Davis right after the season will go to San Antonio to work with the Spurs' coaches," said his agent Kalnītis. "He'll be in the U.S. until the start of the Latvian national team training," added the player's agent.

While with Partizan in the Serbian League, Bertans averaged 6.6 points, 2.3 rebounds, and shot 47% in 19.6 minutes in 10 games. While playing in the Adriatic League for Partizan, Bertans averaged 9.8 points, 2.7 rebounds, shot 44% from the three-point line, and 48.5% from the field in 22.8 minutes in 28 games.

In his most recent game, Bertans finished with 15 points in a Partizan win over Crvena, 71-63.

For the Spurs to have him train in San Antonio shows they are high on his upside. He is a deadly shooter, and athletic but he still needs to develop a post game and add some size. However,*this won't be the first time he spends his offseason in San Antonio. Last summer, Bertans, along with Adam Hanga, were in San Antonio for individual workouts.

The 6'8" forward was drafted by the Pacers in the 2011 NBA Draft but was dealt to the Spurs in the George Hill-Kawhi Leonard trade.
