    You're really cherry picking now.

Not that it means anything, but Duncan has 2 playoff block les.

And 2 PER Playoff les, which Kirby doesn't obviously have because he's a one dimensional player.

4th quarter playoff scoring leader = cherrypicked clutch stat
It is, because not all 4th quarters are clutch.... if you're up big going into the 4th with the game on lock, 4th quarter points aren't "clutch" in that scenario....

    http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/sport...ree-team_x.htm

Article was made in 2003 and I added modern players on to the list using their rating scale. Apparently they were way off adding their numbers in my opinion, but try it yourself.

    MJ - 149 pts (I calculated 144)
    Wilt - 124 pts (I calculated 117)
    Russell - 118 pts (I calculated 115)
    Kareem - 114 pts (I calculated 116)
    Magic - 102 pts (I calculated 98)
    Shaq - 89 pts
Mikan - 88 pts (Don't know how they calculated this)
    Kobe - 88 pts
    Cousy - 86 pts
    Erving - 84 pts (I calculated 83)
    Duncan - 79 pts
    Bird - 75 pts (I calculated 77)
    Havlicek - 72 pts (I calculated 68)
    Barry - 70 pts (I calculated 75)
    Oscar - 65 pts (I calculated 63)
    Lebron - 62 pts
    Moses - 57 pts

    Their ranking scale:
    Quote:
The top 10 players from each NBA/ABA decade (1950s, '60s, '70s, '80s, '90s, '00s), picked subjectively, were awarded points in 10 categories that were weighted to best reflect overall skill and accomplishments. The categories are also how to compare players across eras. The totals were added to pick the greatest player and the greatest All-Star teams. The categories include NBA and ABA awards.
    Categories used:
NBA MVP awards won (five points each)
NBA championships won (five points each)
All-Star Games selected to play in (one point each)
All-NBA first-team selections (two points each)
All-defensive first team (one point each)
NBA Finals MVP awards (two points each)
All-Star MVP awards (one point each)
Individual statistical les (two points each) — restricted to points, rebounds, assists, field goal percentage and free throw percentage, the stats the league has used the longest
Career averages (six points each) — if a player is the NBA career leader in scoring average, rebounds, assists, field goal percentage or free throw percentage
Career playoff averages (five points each) — for each category the player leads

    Since Michael Jordan...

Kobe's 2 scoring les came in years where he was either not in the playoffs or was defeated in the 1st round. Tracy McGrady, Allen Iverson, Carmelo, Durant... real champions there. Oh but you see Shaq won the scoring le and the championship in the same year. Why couldn't Kobe do that? It's because Shaq carried Kobe kicking and screaming across the threshold of matrimony before the consummation began.

Blocking les - KAJ 4x. Mark Eaton 4x. Marcus Camby 4 times. Theo Ratliff 2x. Serge Ibaka 2x, Dwight Howard 2x.

Marcus Camby is equal to KAJ. Theo Ratliff is better than Shaq who never won one.

Blocks and steals should be counted in individual stats, even if it marginalizes players who played in the stone age. And rather than break up FG% and FT%, I'd rather use your favorite stat TS%, even if it is flawed.

More sensible. At least you got rid of all-star games/MVPs.

But if we want to be real here and compare individual players, get rid of rings and Finals appearances. Those are team accomplishments, end of the day. No way in is Bob Cousy better than Jerry West, but he crushes West in your rankings because of the rings.

I'd also rid all averages leaders. It punishes players in a slower era (Kobe included) and overrates Wilt, Russell, Cousy, etc.

Doesn't change the fact that you intentionally weighted the stats to put Kobe ahead. Who gives a who was 5th in RS MVP voting? Where are Bill Russell's Finals MVPs? Don't you have to consider he would have won at least half of them, if not all of them during the Celtics run? Wouldn't that put Russell ahead of Jordan? Same with league MVP and the other bull voting awards. LOL at all star game points... Kobe and Yao Ming voted in even though they didn't play all season. Yeah popularity is a great indicator of greatness.

Actually no I didn't. I tried to make the best rating that includes important accolades and rated them close to the one in the article. Of course its cherrypicked and biased because it doesn't have Duncan ahead though
