Yeah, Im sure his 10,000 total yards in two seasons are to blame for A&M not winning 'a thing'.

Its all about demand. Ideally you want to take a sure thing with a first round pick but realistically how often do Andrew Lucks come around? You'll be waiting a long time for one of those tbh.
It's really more about the offer here, there are like 10 decent to good prospects and one overhyped gimmick in this draft class, that's more than enough to go bpa in the draft.. After all, only needy teams take qbs in the second round, so the situation is the same as the first round except with a lot less game changing talents available.

I'd say there's a significant difference between decent and good. If your're one of these franchises that have sucked for a while and/or desperately need a QB you can't pass up on a guy that's good on your board simply because there might be a decent guy in the 2nd round. Manziel, Bridgewater and Bortles are all sure first rounders.

prospects, decent to good prospects, and to presume you'll get in the play offs with a rookie qb is a pretty re ed way of thinking. (that happens to be very common)

didn't A&M have the worst defense in the nation? if you guys are gna take away from Wilson because of Seattle's D, then you have to cut Manziel slack based on that same logic. I dont downgrade him because of his team's record/stats... how many national championships did Andrew Luck win? I downgrade Manziel because his style of play isn't sustainable in the NFL as we've seen time and time again
He won the Heisman as a freshman, and they had a good D that year. Still didn't win .

Please. Did Luck, Rodgers, Brees, Brady have the kind of hype Manziel had? You're a Freshman Heisman winner, which means you are good enough to challenge for a le, and expectations are unusually high, and he feeds into his own hype. People like to use last year as an excuse because he had no defense, it's only fair to point out the year he had a solid one, and did not win. Because that is what it is going to take in the NFL for him, going to the right system, with a great defense and running game, like Wilson had.

tebow was not hyped as an NFL prospect... being taken in the first round was considered a wild reach. by your standards we have to throw in s like colt brennan to the list

tebow was hyped as a college player, i said luck was one of the most hyped prospects

One NFC scout apparently is much more impressed with Evans than Johnny Football, saying that Manziel has been the bigger beneficiary in the QB-WR relationship.

"In my opinion, (Evans) made Johnny Manziel, not the other way around," the unnamed scout told NJ.com "A lot of times, Manziel just ran around and threw it up for grabs, and (Evans) came down with it."

Not really news, tbh. This was pretty apparent to everyone except Fkla and Aggy.

isn't it odd that you frequently refer to yourself in 3rd person, brag about UTSA, and call others Dunning-Krugers? you are literally the posterchild of Dunning-Krugers

“If Russell Wilson can take a team to the Super Bowl,” said one NFL talent evaluator, “Manziel can do all that and more.”
“Ask Nick Saban how big Manziel is,” another NFL talent evaluator said.
“He’s the reason they win -- and you can’t say anything better about a player,” another NFL talent evaluator said. “If you are the reason, that’s a big statement.”
Manziel has a big man’s feet and hands in a small man’s body. He has the arm to make all the throws from the pocket and another scout raved about his “Larry Bird instinct” -- the ability to see everyone and everything on the field.

"He made me say 'Wow!''' Warner said on NFL Network during Johnny Football's spectacle at Texas A&M.

"I don't think there's very many guys even at the National Football League level that can make those kind of throws,'' Warner told Manziel on the NFL Network set. "With what we've seen, he's been extremely impressive. Overall, I think he's been really, really solid.'
Guess that settles it. He's the next Andrew Luck tbh.

Already proved you wrong on me supposedly 'bragging about UTSA'. The third person thing is for fun.

If anyone wants to have a discussion on something Im open to it. I gave you the time until I realized how childish your arguments were. I never argued that Football is perfect I was mostly arguing with people like you that wanted to compare him to guys like Young, Pryor and Troy Smith. I don't use one quote or one tweet to prop up Football the way these dummies do to bring him down.

You don't seem like a Dunning-Kruger though. Youre just wrong sometimes (we all are) but atleast you try to support your stance. CN is just a leg humper that has one-sentence takes.

Try to have a discussion with dumbjohn or benefactor though. You won't be worth their time. Why bother when they know they are right? Both are Dunning-Kruger walking exhibits tbh.

Remember that time you thought I was fabricating UTSA's acceptance rate? Go back and read that convo, we talked about this.

And come on dude you brought up guys like Vince Young and Terrell Pryor. You brought up Tim Tebow and Tim Couch to downplay his stats in the SEC. You compared his 'inefficiency' to Kobe's inefficiency even though the guy completed 70% of his passes.

yeah, and once you showed the link i acknowledged it. i was giving stats based on what i had looked up. besides, that doesn't refute that you brag about your UTSA education

i brought up guys like vince young and terrelle pryor as guys who's success depends largely on their feet. even you would acknowledge that the thing that makes Johnny Manziel special is the way he uses his feet. i dont think qb's who's success hinges on their feet are necessarily a winning formula. i never said his passing ability was equal to those guys. as for tebow/couch, im making a point that you can't take college stats and extrapolate them to the pros. same with colt brennan, who is actually remarkably similar to manziel when you watch his college footage.

i brought up the inefficiency thing because you said "his efficiency is lowered because he makes a lot of throws from outside the pocket" to which i responded that im not going to give a guy bonus points because he is purposely making inefficient throws by constantly breaking the pocket
