The skirt was not too short, but, my goodness it was tight. She had to lay down flat on the bed, get a wire coat hanger to draw the zipper up the side. She'd come down the circular stair case and that idiot Lefty would be hanging around the bottom pretending to read the evening paper then sneaking a peek up to see what was up under there.
