Some people on this board really confuse me. I get that not all fans are the same; some are overly optimistic even when things look bleak, and others are overly pessimistic even when things look great. But some people on this board almost sound like they want the Spurs to fail. It honestly sounds like they're hoping the Spurs fall short so they can say "See! I told you I was right!"

Maybe they're just trolling. Maybe they're just setting the bar low so they won't be disappointed regardless of what happens. All I know is that it's pretty amazing that some fans could be so unenthused with a team that looks so promising. And anyone who watched the Spurs in 2011 and this year should realize this team is completely different. Compare the roster from 2011 with this year's roster and it's not hard to see the improvement. , look no further than the fact that we're not giving Bonner serious minutes anymore.

I'm not guaranteeing #5 or anything, but , this team looks better than any team we've had since 2007. I think we have just as good of a shot as anyone to make it out of the West and stop Miami from 3-peating. All we have to do now is hope for everyone to stay healthy and show up come playoff time.

There are lots of armchair coaches around here who place the Spurs winning as priority 1a, but place saying "I told you so!" as priority 1b.

You better hope the Spurs don't face OK City since they can't seem to beat them this year. You better hope the Spurs get the easiest path possible because we all know they are not really all that good in the playoffs as compared to the regular season that they can take on anyone and win.
The Spurs were pretty damn good in the playoffs last year and a bad 28 seconds away from a le, I would say that is pretty good.

The other way around for many of them. Being right is more important than being happy for too many people.

We no longer need to worry about OKC catching up and getting the 1st seed. Now, our sole focus (aside from staying healthy obviously) should be on whether the Clippers can manage to sneak into the 2nd seed. They're 1 game behind OKC right now. OKC and LAC play on Wednesday. OKC will be on the road and on the 2nd night of a back-to-back, while the Clippers will be coming off 3 days of rest. If the Clippers win that game, they'll be tied with OKC in the standings but they'll own the tiebreaker.
OKC will feel what we felt, having to rest Westbrook (Manu)

In all honesty we both have to get there first, before you pencil us or the Thunder in for the WCF you have to play two rounds against some good teams.

Would love for the clips to move into 2nd place and face the thunder in round two with HC.

On that same note, I want to beat OKC in the playoffs. We got revenge on Memphis! I want it against OKC too! Put some doubt in Kd's mind about ever winning a ring.

Raps would get swept by the Spurs in brutal fashion, so yeah, let's go Raps!
It sure could happen. The East has been relatviely weak and unpredictable this year.

As good as they've been I believe you will see yet another gear once the playoffs start. They are dying to erase the memory of 6.

What makes y'all think the Clippers, fresh off of an emotional series against the Thunder, and smelling blood in their first ever WCF, would be an easy out? And better yet, what makes y'all think the Rockets would be an easy out?

Mark my words, there will be no remotely easy path to the finals and to a championship. And true fans should appreciate the path and the challenge, regardless of the results.

I don't know if the Spurs can get out of the West, let alone go all the way. But OKC has to be the biggest challenge for the Spurs, and by far. So if Clippers knock them out, the Spurs would be in a better position, though not necessarily a >50% chance.
