Coaching in college is different from coaching in the NBA, and Calipari has already failed in the pros![]()
@RexChapman tweets that John Calipari to the Los Angeles Lakers is a "done deal" regardless of what happens in tonight's game.
Has been refuted, but if this goes down. The Lakers will have a very interesting summer bringing the master recruiter plus a possible Top 5 pick in this years draft![]()

Korean with the salty bads, tbh....
my former mentor Pete Carroll would disagree![]()
Oh I'm the korean now?Little niglet you know your family eats the traditional dog leg every Christmas
i hope this happens as long as carmelo signs with the lakers
you need to get excited when you hear Fredo had a heart attack at the track... til then, it's all smoke and mirrors...
This is going to be a steal for the Lakers. We get the best coach in college ball who will be great NBA coach. I don't give about what happened when he was coach of the Nets since at that time they were ty run organization who couldn't surround him with good talent. Calipari will be joining the best run organization in all of sports and will be able to get all the talent needed to win. I can't wait for next year a rejuvenated God, Calipari, and our lottery pick its pretty much set in stone the Lakers will be 2015 champs.
Rex Chapman is a clown. I'll wait for further verification on this
Didn't Kobe already refuse to play for Calipari once?
Laker fans are right. Calipari will make K. Bryant, a one-legged 35-year-old, into an efficient shooting guard who makes other players better.
Kirby refuses to play for any coach not named Phil Jackson, and he's even quit on Phil several times![]()
You've nary room. Your Amy quit on Tim & it ended up costing you 5 & 6. tee, hee.
no he isn't. he was on harlem's worst poster list
You've nary room, your Kirby dons the quitbag for life.
Amy quitting trumps 'em all. She baked the cookie--then took it--in broad daylight.
Amy
This would be another comical and embarassing season for the Lakers if this goes down.
- Kobe and Calipari would clash, this relationship is doomed even in theory .
- Calipari is a great recruiter, true, but in the NBA where cap space rules all, he virtually has no leverage when Kobe already owned 50% of that
-He has no pedigree in the NBA and has already failed as pointed by CN
-Calipari is in a MUCH better position right now, managing and developing players willing to listen. He has all the leverage unlike going to the Lakers, where the pressure to win in a toxic situation will just further tarnish his already ty NBA resume
Calipari would be a great coach for a young team but pairing him with Kobe whose delusions grandeur believes the the Lakers will still compete in his remaining years is just asking for headache.
MDA's resume s on Calipari's. Besides, why go after a "recruiter" when you have no cap space. Makes no sense.
Yeah, the list you're supposed to read upside down. It means nothing other than HH being a huge got.
