Time to cancel HBO and finish the books I guess.
I'm having a hard time figuring out Daenerys though. She's going around freeing slaves, but her ultimate goal is to conquer Westeros and take the iron throne? Or is she expecting them to just hand the kingdom over to her once she shows up with three adult dragons and call her their liberator? I guess it won't matter because they're setting up a white walker/dragon showdown... I'm just wondering what she is thinking. Monarchs usually aren't freedom fighters.
She's different bro. She's Azor Ahai/Prince that was Promised. Like maester Aemon concluded, no one ever expected the "Prince that was Promised" to be a girl, but the Valyrian word for "prince" is gender neutral.
Part of it is that she knows she's supposed to take back Westeros, but at the same time, the whole sheltered upbringing means she knows all on how to go about doing it.
In addition, her exposure to the cultures outside Westeros seems to be making her waffle on continuing to push for the far off goal, or deal with what she's seeing with her own eyes in the here and now.
For those of you who didn't like Ed Skrein as the sellsword Daario Naharis, then there's a bit of good news — the role of Daario has been recast for season four, with Dutch actor Michiel Huisman (Treme) taking the role.
I'm still sad they wrote out Strong Belwas.
I wanted to see his massive belly with a ton of scars. lol
This season is going to have some pretty epic scenes, tbh.
The dude that plays Joffrey says he's retiring from acting after he's done with this show.
I always thought he was too short to play Joffrey but he does play the role pretty well.
bumping this. how did everyone feel about last nights episode? Sansa lookin mighty fine for a whiny little . Other than that it pretty much was a filler episode it seems.
Even the ending? Seemed pretty important to Arya's character.
There were tons of important storylines starting off this season...esp Oberyn and Arya's stories...Probably Dany's realization about her dragons.
this season should be the best yet IMO. Solid start especially with the introduction of the Red Viper and the Hound/Arya being awesome as tbh.
Weirdest combo that is for sure, but best character development story line so far that I've seen.
Filler episode? What the . It was great.
HBO Go failed pretty hard last night, I guess that is one reason they don't offer it a la carte.
IIRC the scene where Jamie gets "disowned" by Tywinn had much, much, much, MUCH more "UMPGH!!" to it in the book. It was way too calm when Jamie refused Casterly Rock. Should have been a near explosion between them.
Other than that quibble, was a great episode.
So purple wedding next episode?
The Daario actor is different... Hope they don't change any more actors or actresses...
The Mountain has been several people, it's bound to happen.
they also recast Tommen, Joffrey's younger brother. Kid looks older than Jeffrey now tbh.
Interesting to see how many former porn stars are acting in this.
i'm going to try to power through 'a dance with dragons' this weekend. that last episode was pure piff.
