I want no part of the Suns, that much I know.
I'm not smart enough to figure this out. Dallas is now in. What are the different scenarios for who we will matchup with?
I really wanted Dallas in the first round, but would prefer Memphis over Phoenix.
I want no part of the Suns, that much I know.
If Dallas beats Memphis, they're 7th..
If Memphis or Sacramento beats Phoenix, the Suns are out..
If Memphis beats the Lakers, Suns and Mavs, they're 7th..
Don't quote me, but I believe if Memphis wins out, they'll get the 7 seed and bump Dallas to 8th.
I believe that Memphis needs one win and they are in. They hold the tiebreaker with Phoenix
EDIT: Didn't realize Memphis plays LA tomorrow.
Memphis needs 2 more wins. They'll win the next game cause it's against the Lakers and then they have the Suns, against which they can lose but still make the playoffs if they win the last game vs. the Mavs, who will probably not play for real.
So in other words we shoulda been rooting for Phoenix in tonight's game.
Assuming we all wanted Dallas that is.
This is pretty much it. My preference for #8 would be, in order: Memphis, Dallas, Phoenix. Dallas is in, and Memphis controls their own destiny. After tonight, Phoenix needs help to get in.
If they lose to the suns and beat the mavs they'll force a three way tie which forces Memphis out. Unless Phoenix loses to the kings.
who cares tbh, the Spurs sweep any of those teams and the Thunder probably win in 5 or less.
Wait, what?
Mephis and the mavs have 32 lossses if Phoenix beats memphis then Memphis will have 33 losses. Then Memphis would have no choice but to beat the mavs which would give the mavs 33 losses. Which would lead to a 3 way tie, unless Phoenix loses to sacto
I think the tie breaker would come down to this:
http://www.nba.com/standings/playoff_picture.htmlBetter winning percentage in all games among the tied teams.
oop, sorry I read your post wrong at first. I though it said, "Unless Phoenix loses to the Suns"
I'm more confused than ever.
Dallas is in and will be the 7th seed unless Memphis wins out. If Memphis wins out, they will be the 7th seed and Dallas will be 8th.
Phoenix loses all tiebreaker scenarios. The Suns can only make make the playoffs by finishing ahead of Memphis in the standings. If Phoenix finishes ahead of Memphis, the Suns will be the 8th seed and Dallas will be the 7th seed.
Clear as mud.

all of them, five games at most with either of the three teams. I still think Memphis is #8 when it's all said and done, and Phoenix is fishing.
I know it's been pointed out many times, but if PHX and MEM were in the East, they'd be fighting for homecourt in the first round.
I want the Grizzlies, those assholes threw games to play us in 2011. Now they are in a positin where they cant throw and if they do win they will face us.
Id much rather have Dallas play OKC because Dallas has OKC's number, the games are ALWAYS decided in the final minutes. (I would expect OKC to win in 5 but ya never know)
If Memphis beats the Lakers and the Suns, then Wednesday's game with Dallas will be for the 7th seed. So, we could see the Grizz throw a game to get the Spurs.
We're getting Dallas in the first round. Book it.
I want Memphis. Like a poster above said, Dallas matches up well with OKC. Not saying by any means that they're going to win the series, but it'll be a fun series that could go six games or so. Whether we play Dallas or Memphis, we've owned both of them for two straight seasons. I'm not worried about either.
I fear neither of those teams. My concern is the second round because the Spurs have found no clue yet against Aldridge/Lillard or Harden.
I want the Mavs. No-defense teams are generally not a threat in the playoffs. The Grizz can (grit and) grind the Thunder down a little. The Thunder win that series in 6 but it will take a lot out of them.
Grizz haven't done with OKC, but the Mavs are 3-1.
