It's not like Kobe didn't cause the historical collapse of the Lakers. Him forcing management's hand into putting talent that does not mesh without taking into account his own diminishing skills had a huge hand in causing the Lakers into their current situation.

With Howard, MVPau, a decent coach, and a couple of decent guards in place of Nash, the Lakers make the playoffs, even in the West.
