Part of the charm of those films is that they're B&W...particularly Casablanca. The lighting on Ingrid Bergman's face/eyes is beautiful and classic.
When will they colorize/HD Casablanca/Citizen Kane/King Kong 1933? Would love to see "On the Waterfront" in color/HD,

They're more likely to do a remake then do a paintjob over it.
Obviously you haven't seen the HD ...The Godfather...it's as if you'd never seen it before.
When those old 1920 records were made they were never meant to be listened to on CD and a megawatt six speaker system, which makes them sound so much better than they did back in 1926 on a buildin speaker record player.

I just saw The Godfather in HD.
Remastering a movie into HD and actually slapping funny colors on a black and white movie are two entirely different things.
Movie has a particular cache and is absolutely gorgeous in b&w.
Colorization usually sucks

I've seen that movie at least a dozen times, even the uncut version in a cinema arts class in college. It was never better than that colorized version. A huge step up in class.
So all the Arabs are wearing the same color turbans and dress, nay!
