Yeah, they can't score, and their defense is overrated. Horrible combination. The only player who's worth keeping on that team is Gasol. I like Conley, but he can't be a team's best guard.

Memphis is just severly outmached here. Refs and no refs.
Thabeet is still awful, but he's an even better human victory cigar than McGrady was for the Spurs last year, especially when you can whip him out in the second quarter.
Scotty isn't that smart. He's playing because pretty much everybody else is in foul trouble...

plus NBA still sucks off OKC because they were able to use them to send a message to future non-compliant cities. Just hope Spurs and fans can overcome the bull , though least Spurs have HCA, otherwise the officiating would really be bad.
I don't think Memphis is perfectly builtbut zbo and Marc combining for 5-20 from the field and 4-11 from the stripe is going to guarantee a losing position no matter who their opponent is.
Aside from the scoring decrease missed field goals lead to quicker transition than made shots any day of the week. If those guys instead were a more typical 11-20 and 7 or 8/11 from the line it would be a much more interesting game
Sure, but they aren't BECAUSE their wings suck. Same reason why the Spurs reamed them. Their wings aren't a threat, which allows the Thunder to dig and rattle Memphis' bigs. It just doesn't make sense to build a team around two post-up bigs anymore, especially when they lack elite spot-up shooters. Sure, Memphis would be closer if their bigs played with they do against weaker compe ion. Officiating will be absolutely terrible with or without HCA. Spurs need it because they need to play perfect in 4 out of 7 games to give themselves a chance.

Shooting 27% and only down 16... not insurmountable, just really unlikely.
I don't think any team is that bad. I simply meant that Memphis' bigs can't dominate good teams if their wings can't score.
