you hear this today?![]()
Heard this earlier today from ESPN LA radio that Kobe has informed the FO that he's not interested in a 'rebuilding' process, to trade the picks, and start building now. This is a horrible human being tbh, should build a statue infront of staples of him eating embryos type .
Never thought I'd be cheering for Kobe to leave the Lakers like he's Luke Walton Jr
He has no choice.
If we get a top 3 pick I aint trading it if I am Mitch but after that I would trade for the right deal.
Not because Kobe says so but as deep as this draft maybe I think it may only net 3 stars so unless someone at the top screws up we need a top 3 pick to get one ...
Still dont see a Lebron/durant in the bunch not even a Aldridge/Lillard I pray that I am wrong ...
Too bad they didn't listen to him last time when they could have gotten Kidd for Bynum tbh.
might as well demand Jimmy suck his on ESPN live after the lotto.
Kome is like that washed up stripper who is still trying to give lap dances to celebs and promising them that he can do it better than the 20 year olds. He needs to kind of just lay low and accept its over for him and wish the franchise well. All this build around me stuff is garbage, they tried to build around him in 2012 it didnt work.
3 days away from the big day, bite your tongue
LOL Lakers letting players be GMs. Still remember how badly that backfired when Shaq demanded a thug and a shooter. So they signed Rodman and dumped Eddie Jones and Elden Campbell to Charlotte for Rice. Might have cost them the 1999 le since they owned the Spurs before that trade, and they ended up way better when they dropped Rice for nothing in the summer of 2000.
Does this got realize there's a salary cap?
God damn this guy is a ing re . Constantly talks about wanting to rebuild yet sucked Mike Brown's only to have him canned after he sucked D'Antonio off to the media only to coach kill him this season, ballhogged his team out of contention in 2013 then quit on them in 2014 and resigned for 48 million and now he wants the Lakers to compete now when they have no roster and more than a third of the salary for next season is dedicated to just him and they have no coach. They actually have a chance at a top 3 pick in a stacked draft and Kobe wants them to trade their future away for him nowwhat a ing piece of imo
If Kobe wants to ring...he'll have to do it somewhere else. Unfortunately, even if they hit the lottery big, get a Top Tier FA they still need a system (new coach) and semblance of chemistry to compete. These don't just happen in Year 1 or Year 2 and we're not even talking about the injury card. Now, if they can muster a decent team with good athletic roleplayers for next year with Kobe, Pau, Henry, Swaggy P, Farmar, Pick and FA coming back strong they could get into the playoffs. Year 2...who knows. They way they're constructed, it's doom and gloom for now. I'm not too worried about the cap really, it's about finding the right fit of guys, as it always has been in any championship team.
I'm still shocked that so many Lakers fans believe their current team has any talent, tbh..
If Nick Young is one of your top players, and you're paying 20+ mil a year for a player that is no longer a viable top 2 option, your GM is doing an awful job, tbh..
My D'Antoni is earning his money, though, I hope he coaches the Spurs once Pop retires, tbh..
Not the GM's fault that he is bound to paying a cancer that drives the rest of the talent out of town. LOL snitch ing about the team's talent after running two and going on three HOF bigmen out of LA.
I see a lot of vacations for Kirby in the next couple of years...![]()
should kobe bryant retire, in your opinions?
I thought he already did?
I don't see an issue with it. Dude has bargaining power, he's using it. It's no different than what the team execs are doing. Phil kicked the entire coaching staff to the curb in NY. LA already spent themselves out of compe ion for a few years. Kobe is just trying to maintain his brand by putting up a facade of compe iveness. s who quit 2 years in a row prior the the post season are not compe ive. Kobe is greedy, self absorbed, not compe ive. Calling him compe ive is like calling a 3 year old compe ive because he won't let other kids play with his toys. Compe ive people do what it takes to win. Kobe does what makes him feel better about himself, and "winning" to him means something different than it does to the team.
Gonna be fun watching Kobrick 'roid rage next year when his team continually gets curb stomped. No special doctor in Germany can save him now.
Kobe going for another rape charge with the Lakers orgo tbh.
Kobe if healthy could a #2 option on a playoff team. le team? doubtful. He will need to prove that. Lakers are not close. Nick young was OK. Problem is getting a true #1 regardless of whatever system you run. Only two teams you can argue that have won a le without at least a top 2-3 player in the NBA is:
1. 2004 Pistons* (no sure-fire HOF'ers a true outlier)
2. 2011 Mavs (@ HOF'ers with Dirk playing top 3 at year's end)
If you want a le:
Option 1 if you can get 2 or 3 HOF caliber superstars near their prime that is best route (Heatles, Shaqobe, Boston 3 party, Orginial big 3 showtime Lakers, Badboys etc.)
Option 2: a Super duper star with all-star supporting cast: Kobe's back 2 back, Duncan 2005 & 2007 Dream in 1995
The star is the most important piece. But he cant be a a "melo" needs to be Tim, Shaq, Kobe, Mj, Lebron, Wade Dirk. Coach is a close 2nd.
Exactly. Kobe is acting like this is another Gasol situation where they can bring in one big piece and everything is going to magically fall into place. That obviously didn't work when the Lakers brought in Howard, and it's not going to work with any of the pathetic FAs that are going to be on the market this offseason.
The Lakers at that point were on the brink of contention, with PJ and Odom and Bynum, so Gasol was enough to push them over the edge. Right now, all one major addition and one year is going to do is raise the Lakers from the lottery level to the worst spot in the NBA: talented mediocrity.
Most of those players came out of the draft for their teams...generally after rebuilding efforts and/or nightmare seasons. Even Shaq to L.A. and Lebron to Miami took assets and careful planning...neither of which the Lakers currently seem to possess.
