Beno Udra
Props to the Grizzlies for not collapsing in OT.![]()
Two terrible plays by Westbrook to cost OKC the game - Perkins just bailed him out on the first one.
How does it taste Thunder, how does it taste?
bravo memphis
I guess not![]()
What's funny is that Brooks is now convinced that Kendrick Perkins is an important part of a clutch offense.
Westbrook went for glory at the end of regulation instead of playing for the tie, missed badly with plenty of time remaining, and the game would have ended right then and there if Perkins hadn't come away with the rebound. Then he goes way too hard for the steal on the inbounds, down by two, and puts and 85% FT shooter on the line. OKC's only option from there is to do what they always do when they desperately need points, which is run screens for Durant beyond the arc and let him pull up from 3. Naturally, he can't make them all, so he bricks and Memphis walks away with the W they should have gotten in regulation.
Not afraid of this OKC monkeyball team at all. Bring it on!
I didn't get a chance to look carefully at the replays, but my first impression wasn't that he went too hard for the steal, but that it was a dangerously dumb inbounds pass by Beno. In that situation I wouldn't throw the ball anywhere in the vicinity of Westbrook.
It probably was, though Westbrook came from about 30 feet away at Mach 3 to try and make that play. Udrih, I think, made the right choice, his pass just allowed a little too much time for Westbrook to try and be the conquering hero again.
This could quickly turn into 2011-vs-the-Spurs series for the Grizz.
Don't know why he was out there for that offensive possession, but he got the put back. Regardless, shows how much this guy can really coach...not much
OKC was out of timeouts and Memphis was shooting FTs. Perkins was in the game to rebound a potential missed free throw.
I guess Scotty was watching the finals last year
Does anyone honestly still think Dallas had a higher chance of beating OKC? It's hard enough out-scoring them, especially with Carlisle's roster. But the Grizzlies bring a type of pressure and know-how which is just enough to squeeze out a couple of wins.
San Antonio and Miami are the only two teams undefeated at home in the playoffs... that was extremely quick, tbh...
Gonna be a fun playoffs all around
Both still have to get past Game 2, tbh.
Reviving this thread to vent about how annoyed I already am with Westbrook in Game 6 tonight.
Oh and Indy is done. Calling it.
Wrong about Indy. They're unbelievably inconsistent. Grizz looking very much like a 7 seed right now. Ugly game.
It's gonna be a TNT tripleheader on Saturday...three Game 7s in one night! Sweet!
5:30 - Hawks @ Pacers
8:00 - Grizzlies @ Thunder
10:30 - Warriors @ Clippers
Getcha popcorn ready!![]()
