They consider themselves Ivy League and on a par with the ones in the east.
There are a few in Texas. I don't know all of them but the few I do about are:
UTAustin
University of the Incarnate Word
Trinity University
Baylor University
SMU might be another one, and maybe Steven F. Austin.
There are many Ivy League schools all across the nation now because the term only loosely applies to the ones up east these enlightened days, although those eastern schools try to maintain the label, there is no patent on it.
