Who would you rather face in the first round: Memphis or Dallas?

Two OT games and another really close one that could have gone to OT. Memphis could have easily won last year, don't forget that.

Woulda, coulda, shoulda. The Spurs are about execution. You think it was a fluke that we won 3 close games? It wasn't. We had the horses to go and Memphis didn't. Look how horribly OKC is playing and remaining in games -- the Grizzlies simply don't have a ton of weapons to hurt you with. They're a VERY good basketball team but they don't have a guy that puts them over the top. Miller isn't that dude because he's not a triple threat who will burn you from anywhere, he's just a great 3 point shooter.

But do you honestly see the Spurs getting outta of the 2nd round after having to endure a series like the one OKC is in now with them.

Houston looks like . Dallas has been playing much better ball as of late, and the Rockets are an untested team in the post-season. Portland will be a tough matchup obviously, but just because we are struggling against the Mavs doesn't mean much. We won a le one year going 4-2 every single series.

I knew Dallas would be no cakewalk, but they aren't beating the Spurs up like Memphis would have. They just are playing with High Energy, especially the 1st 3 games, but you saw them dwindle down in game 4 and i expect to see a carryover of this into game 5. Look at my previous thread, this is exactly what I called. They won't be able to hang with the Spurs especially now the games only have 1 game off in between.

Matchups. I don't understand how Memphis has suddenly become a team that's too physical for the Spurs when we swept them last year. What, was the Grindhouse just not a physical team last year or something?

Just like last year, if the Spurs did have to face the Grizz, I hope it was in the WCF. Having to play the most physical team in the playoffs in the 1st round is something I would want the Spurs to avoid.

Well, we won't play the Griz until the WCF. And Griz Clips, if it happens, will be a barnburner.

It was about Memphis being the toughest matchup for OKC. Which they have been and are. Memphis would have been an easier matchup for the Spurs, but if it means OKC getting knocked out in the 1st round, then its worth it. I was just hoping for a long physical series. Might get the bonus plan.

Perhaps. They're definitely giving them a run for the money. I just thought Durant had evolved more as a player than what has actually happened. Dude is getting bodied by a 6'4" SG. It's unreal. Shades of Dirk in 2007. But Dirk seems way more calm under that kind of pressure than Durant is. And Westbrook is a ing cancer to that team right now.

Seriously, the Thunder are the most mentally weak "contender" the NBA has seen in a long time. They're supposed to have 2 of the 5 best players in the league and they can't get it done against a 7 seed.
