The bench is playing conservatively. They typically come in and have to be saviors. Now they have to hold a lead and that's not their thing. They are good at generating offense but they aren't in that mode. Patty is tentative, probably only has 30 shots or so, and Marco passes up transition 3s. That's not how the bench normally plays.

It's all about matchups. Rick obviously feel he can attack him a lot and get good results. Not all coaches think like that.
The offense part is what's annoying. That's all on Marco. There's no excuse for his poor shooting. He's done it before in the playoffs and there's no reason he should be bricking wide open looks.
Check out the ing beast on the left... must be their enforcer center and you know the PG is the short one.
This series has been very shaky and I can't believe Pop would be willing to risk a loss just for that. But maybe.

Bench is playing poorly because Dallas coach has a gameplan to stop 3s and force Spurs to the paint and Spurs are frankly not good in the paint. But remember Spurs are only in playoffs because of the bench.

I'm starting to think Danny is ailing in some way. It makes no sense that Pop would bench him, especially since Beli is hurting the team on both ends of the floor.
He knows whats up with Tony, besides the ankle... I'm starting to think he feels we're not going anywhere without others contributing.
I would even say he's willing to risk the series. I mean, so far he has not moved the needle one bit in 5 games...

If the Spurs can maintain their energy, they should be fine in the 2nd half..
Tony doesn't need to dominate, but he needs to trust his mid-range shot and avoid hesitating/over-penetrating, it puts the offense in a bad position..
