Kawhi too.
Can we really rely on Many to hit free throws down the stretch? He seems to miss free throws when we need them the most.
I'm more concerned about him keeping up his level of play.. Manu has always been a great FT shooter (except for last year).
Manu sucks
He is still going 1-2 though from FT line late, tonight no exception. I hoe he keeps up this level of play thyough, YES! I agree. I wish he was old Manu from the line though late in games, I miss that Manu at times to say the least. He used to be MONEY.
He's ing horrendous when it comes to making clutch free throws as of these last 2 years. He used to be elite.
He has to keep the focus on bending those knees, tbh.
I don't think anyone on this team can make clutch free throws these days, tbh.![]()
It seems like the team as a whole has sucked at ft showing as of late.
This. Manu splits FTs from time to time and I still trust him at the line late more than I do Kawhi or Parker. I'm more concerned that Manu's great play off the bench is going to vanish in Game 6, when the Spurs will need it most.
His shot is fundamentally different. In the past, when he didn't swish his free throws they used to gently bounce off the top of the rim, roll into the backboard, and then fall into the net.
He doesn't shoot his free throws with the same soft touch. One wonders if he even practices free throws. Even if he doesn't get to the line he needs to practice his shot.
We have to.. He's been that guy we rely on for years and years in that spot..
It's frustrating, tbh... same with Tiago and Kawhi... but obviously that's who Pop wants to take em, so I'm rooting for him...
He's like 3 weeks away from being 37 years old... even Dirk is missing freebies this series... the question would be why Pop isn't going to somebody else...
its because Manu's "missed" FTs are the most likely to gently slide off the rim into the net
He overcoached once. Doesnt want to make same mistake
Not anymore.
There really isn't anyone else to go to, tbh.
Have you watched Manu at all?
Prior to last season, he's been one of the best playoff free throw shooters ever and I may have even picked him number 1 if I were choosing someone to shoot free throws. I still want him shooting them and I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt. One bad post season where he wasn't healthy isn't enough for me to not do so.
Would you rather have Parker or Kawhi? I'll take Manu
Splitter did a damned good job in game 4.
Also, in general, I trust Manu at the line in the clutch. He's been playing like 2007 again this series.
On a side note, it was good to see Bobo hit both of his free throws toward the end.
If he remembers to bend his knees he's fine. You'll notice he makes an effort to do that.
