A lot of players whine and complain. But I don't think I've ever seen something like Nowitzki last night. Dude was really over the top, a bit kind of like a typical Nic Cage performance. Nowitzki isn't usually as bad as this, though.
Duncan certainly whines a lot, or at least makes his sad puppy face. But Dirk took it to another level last night. He spent more time whining than playing.

Its called fatigue. The Mavs looked spent out there yesterday. If it wasn't for VC make everything blindfolded shooting performance last night, the Spurs would have easily won again. Splitter was abusing Dirk most of the night just added insult to injury.
it was bad enough one of the reporters asked him about it after the game.
he got miffed
"been doing that for 16 years bro"- actual quote
"Impressive. But exercise bike no hit back." - Chong Lee
He was getting fouled, but so has everyone in this series. It seems like the refs are letting defenses get away with more this rear.
He's a got , if carter didn't hit so many horse shots it wouldn't have even been close.
He has done this for years...but admittedly, not as much as last night. I was reading the Mavs forum and their fans actually are saying the same thing--as in, shut up and play.
In my own case, I enjoy watching it, but not as much as I enjoy watching his matador defense.
This, and spurs were getting away with a lot on dirk. However I don't believe he has a legit gripe on those alleged bull elbow taps on his step back one footed j's. You're not gonna get that dirk, not any more than you already do anyway
Dirk complains alot. Last night he took it to another level.
I think he just got it in his head that they were destined to knock off the 1st seed Spurs. He's seeing that dream vanish and he's pissed. nbd.
I'll never understand spur fans insatiable slurping of Dirk, dude ain't classy, he's dirty.
Disagree completely. Yes he got a lot of calls in his career but he never talks and is a standup guy all around.
Flailing elbows & cheap shots on Manu, yeah stand up guy.
Chris Webber was pretty much like "I've never seen Dirk crying this much, HE'S FINALLY BEING A LEADER!"
He cried a lot in game 5, a lot more than I've ever seen him do, almost as much as are used to seeing TD do.

Players do that out of frustration. IIRC, Tim fouled someone (D.Harris?) pretty hard after an obvious non-call.
Spare me the cliche. I've seen Dirk's antics with his flailing elbows for a long time. Dude has a fake tough guy persona to him.
Lol! The poor bike!![]()

I think with Dirk it's his body language that pisses people off. People who don't even watch basketball on the reg notice his grimace and for some reason are offended by it. Similar to Jay Cutler, it's easy to dislike someone who looks so miserable all the time.
This dude used to get 10-15 FTAs per game regularly during the playoffs off a ing fadeaway that he initiates contact on. He's crafty with pump fakes and gets players in bad positions often and some of those calls are deserved, but a load of them he sold with his dramatic flopping.
: but hes so classy

Dirk can eat a Dirk. Last night he was complaining to everyone, including Cuban. was hilarious.
Elbows like a mother er.
You'd be pissed too if your opponent ran virtually every play right at you, and you couldn't stop them.
Dirk needs to channel his anger into being a little less of a sieve.
