I've said numerous times that John Ireland is the biggest got in the LA Sports Scene which is quite an accomplishment considering Max Kellerman is a LA radio host tbh.
Had the day off today, sat down and listened to some ESPN radio for lunch and this tool said his dream pick for the Lakers coaching job is none other than Byron Scott. He went on to talk about how Scott would be a better pick than Karl, Thib, Mark Jackson (they assumed hes losing his job for some reason), and other coaches as well.
John went on to say Byron can be the guy who gets the Lakers back on top. This ing guy is a class A clown, for those of you that don't know, it was WELL known that John Ireland had an LG account and would post there and try to get 'the peoples' feedback. He would often talk about how 'Laker fans on the internet' told him this stuff and people actually found out what account he had on LG.
I actually called that ass wipe when Lakers got d'antoni and told him on ESPN radio it was a horrible choice and it will go down in Lakers history as the worst decision ever. He laughed and said it was a Dr. Buss decision and it is going to work.

Pretty much this, he has NEVER even been remotely close to being accurate with Laker decisions and has always been behind the worst ideas in sports history. I want to meet the man who pays this guy tbh and ask him just how damn good of a blow job he gets from his wife every day.
One of my favorite memories of LG is when posters would make threads asking John Ireland to mention their ideas on the radio. This is correct. Mason, Ireland, Willard, Max, Ramona are the biggest collective group of gots in the sports talk community. The only ones I can remotely stand on ESPN are Marcellus and Mychal because I love black people jive talk tbh.
I like Marcellus since he's a Clipperfan.... Mychal is terrible lately, though, switching between terrible takes about the Clippers' sale and blathering abouthis son Klay

Is Marcellus a genuine Clipper fan tho or was it a forced schtick for there to be some balance on the show? I just dont feel hes a true fan of the Clippers. It seems like he takes playoff losses in stride, unlike Vick the Brick who is nearly suicidal after the Lakers loss. Funny thing is John always takes shots at Vic the brick who I admire alot because unlike John hes not in the closet about how biased he is.I like Marcellus since he's a Clipperfan.... Born and raised in SA, been in LA last 15 years. I sometimes put on EPSN AM here for pure comedic purposes. All the local coverage here is hysterical. Michael Cooper, Lisa Leslie, and Rob whatever his name on KCAL are putrid as well. All homers with horrid takes. If you turn it on right now their NBA coverage is talking about Kobes triumphant return LOL. Its so bad, I'm starting to believe that they can't actually think what they say, rather being spoon fed it.
I'm fine with homer takes as long as they're not tried to pass as intelligent, non-biases opinions tbh.

Its rare that I do, usually its on my drive to work or lunch time. Its usually Max or John Ireland, I used to listen to Vic the Brick but it wasnt as fun to here his takes when the Lakers started losing. His takes on zen and stuff got old fast, but hes the nicest guy in person. John Ireland thinks hes so money when he gives his 2 cents, I remember the absolute arrogance he spewed about D'antoni and that Mike was going to take the franchise to the WCF MINIMUM. It was such a pure joy to see him try to deflect the topic months later.
Hopefully we get a John Ireland statue outside of Staples soon, made of mold and the actual corpse of John Ireland tbh
I listen to my local sports radio, and they're p unbiased.
One man's unbiased report is another's man biased report...there is always an element of homerism in the local show. It's a given. I don't listen to anyone on the radio but I used to catch The Herd because I like how obnoxious he can be. But that's about it.
Ireland is awful as a basketball mind, but he's a solid announcer and he's pretty funny on Mason/Ireland tbh. The worst presences imo are Willard, Thompson, and Kellerman

I was listening to John Ireland again yesterday and he was saying that 'rumor' has it that greg popovich to the Lakers is a possibility, a very dark horse but very real possibility.
