From Elias: * Tim Duncan has recorded his 151st career playoff double-double tonight, leaving him 6 shy of tying Magic Johnson for most all-time.

Nice to see Duncan ahead of that statpadder Wilt. IF Spurs can make another deep playoff run, TD probably takes this record from Magic. Duncan had 11 double-doubles in last years playoffs. More than reasonable for him to get six more.

he could be going into the semis only needing 5 more to tie, if he plays in the WCF and Finals, he will get it this year, no doubt. especially if they go long series..

Assuming we're ignoring the pre-merger era (Wilt had a double-double in 92% of his career games...lol), Barkley tied Duncan with 22 in the '93 playoffs. Shaq is the next closest I can find with 21 in the '00 playoffs.

edit: scratch that - I forgot the playoffs were set up differently back then. Russell/Wilt never even played 20 playoff games in one season. Also, Dwight Howard tied Duncan/Barkley with 22 double doubles in the '09 playoffs.

03 was amazing, especially in the Finals. In the 03 Finals he led the Spurs in points, rebounds, assists, and blocks. And between both teams he led in points, rebounds, and blocks and was 2nd in assist only behind Jason Kidd. Should've gotten a quadruble double in game 6, an amazing performance. I consider his performance that year including the playoffs to be the best year anyone in the NBA has had since MJ has retired.

Really puts into perspective how impressive it was for KG to lead Minnesota in points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks over the entire '03-04 season. Pretty damn crazy.

Duncan, Hakeem and Lebron are the only players in the modern era to lead a team to a le while leading their squad in PPG, RPG, APG and BPG or SPG, IIRC..

Spurs fan? You might look up early Admiral years. ('93 - '94 would be a good example).

    **Tims. Completely legit.
**Magics 50% legit as cornhole Laker statistician would give him another *assist* even if Kream took the ball, held it for 7 seconds, did 4 dribbles and then hooked it in.

Easier to lead a team in those categories when the team sucks.

*sucks = no deep playoff runs

What are y'all talking about? I wasn't " ting" on D-Rob...he never led the Spurs in all 5 stats for an entire season.

'90: Willie Anderson led the team in assists
'91: Rod Strickland led the team in assists
'92: Rod Strickland led the team in assists
'93: Avery Johnson led the team in assists
'94: Dennis Rodman led the team in rebounds
'95: Avery Johnson led the team in assists
'96: Avery Johnson led the team in assists
    '97: injury year
'98-'03: Duncan led the team in points

So relax with the condescending comments acting like I'm not a Spurs fan or some .
