He's not the guy that should be putting 20pts games consistently, tbh. He more than fulfilled its quota of 20pts games this series.

Thus he gets a pass for going 1-8 from the field and throwing the ball away on a critical possession. Got it.

Nope, but you came here talking about 20 pts games. Yeah, he didn't play well tonight but Manu has played well this series, if the Spurs lose this it won't be because of him.

I don't mind bumping this myself. That old bag had a great bounce back for game 7.

I can't complain with 20 points on "7 shots" (even though I hate it when people cite like this, it should be x points on y possessions so free throws are included). He had a great game. Phenomenal actually. 20, 5 assists, 6 steals, 3 rebounds.

Manu is a lot healthier now than he was at this point last year. Same with Tony, Diaw, and Splitter

IMO I'd have to say no tbh. He's been riddled with injuries this season, and he couldn't even get close to scoring 20 for the few games that he came back for (until...surprise surprise!...another injury).

I think it's pretty obvious that he's going to retire after next season when his contract is up. The 3 year/$40 million contract was a lifetime achievement award contract, after all. There's no way the Spurs F.O. will give him 2 lifetime achievement award contracts, and no other team in the league wants a TOSB. He's not a pure shooter like Steve Nash, and his passing abilities will be rendered useless once the league figures out that Manu's no longer a scoring threat, so he doesn't really have any skills that will allow him to stay in the league beyond the age of 35.

He can't explode at the rim with his "toothpick" ankles (lest he wants another stress fracture). His shot is pretty much gone after his hand surgery (you can tell by the way his free throws clanked off the rim to the left and right). If he plays any more than 15 minutes a game, he'll be too tired to make a 3 point shot, so that's pretty much gone. By Manu's own admission, this is without question Tony Parker's team now, so even if you disagreed with everything so far, Manu won't be taking 15-20 shots per game because he's no longer the first option (or second option...or third option IMO).

Taking into account the fact that Manu will most likely have another season ending injury next year, and taking into account the fact that it takes him 3 or 4 months to warm up and get in a good rhythm (which he doesn't have this season), I think it's a safe bet to say he'll never score 20 again.

So what do you think spurstalk, will Manu Ginobili ever score 20 points again?

    Update for 2012-2013 season:

    Manu Ginobili 2012-2013:

    vs New Orleans: DNP INJURY
    vs OKC: DNP INJURY
    vs Utah: 8 points
    vs Indiana: 3 points
    vs Clippers: 9 points
    vs Kings: 7 points
    vs Portland: 17 points
    vs Lakers: 3 points
    vs Knicks: 12 points
    vs Nuggets: 20 points
    vs Clippers: 15 points
    vs Celtics: 5 points

    Season average: 10.4 PPG

So is it agreed that OP has down-syndrome or some sort of disability that impairs common sense?

    Edit: the poll results

And zero when we needed him.

Without him we still win by 15 thanks to his awful first five mins.

Not really. He was crushing any hope Thunder had in a comeback a la Clippers or Grizzlies. Those were closer points like he used to do. But he was most effective in the third where he gave the Spurs a cushion to allow for more aggressiveness in the fourth.
