How do you explain games 3,4, 5 and 6 then? Lack of effort too?
They played with great energy in those games, but the bench being has hurt. Again, that fluke Carter shot in Game 3 really sucked. Now it's at the stage where I don't think the Big 3 have it in them to play at an elite level.

Just give it up man. Against the Grizzlies this would have been over a long time ago.

Should've been over Wednesday in this series too, but Pop and the bench haven't played up to par. With how the Grizz have played OKC and how bad the Spurs have looked going 7 with them wouldn't have surprised me. Would've felt a lot more confident seeing them in a Game 7 tho instead of Dallas.

No matter how putrid the Spurs are playing the absolute least they can put on the board is 90 pts. 90pts on regulation is a good game for the Grizzlies. There's just no way a series between these two could have gone more than 5 or 6 games.

Role players would have played better against Memphis too 'cause I doubt they would have used Carlisle game plan of shutting them down and letting the big three beat them.

A rested Blazers team that is young vs a tired Spurs team with an injured Tony. That would be terrifying.
Always the injury excuse anytime Parker plays like in the post-season. By that logic, he's been injured for most of his playoff career.

Grizz offense is much better this season tbh, the additions of Miller and Lee have helped a lot. I'm not doubting that Memphis matches up poorly, but so do the Mavs. Yet here we find ourselves going into a Game 7 with Dallas while OKC (who also owned the Grizz in the regular season) are in a similar situation. Fact of the matter is these teams came to win while the Spurs and Thundet coasted. In OKC's case they're lucky the league has their back.

Spurs' role players have been missing open shots. They prolly would've gotten more but in the end making 0/5 is the same as percentage ad making 0/8.

I don't remember many open threes by Belli, tbh.

He was open several times in either Game 4 or 5 and went 1/8. He's also blown a lot of layups too.

There were lots of us criticizing the front office for wasting the MLE on Belinelli/Ayres actually.

This series should already be over not because of Pop, but turds like Vince Carter are allowed to travel and flop their way bogus game winning shot and offensive fouls.

Ya, Portland is a more athletic, younger version of the Mavs with a worse coach and worse bench, tbh..the lack of a bench doesn't even really matter, all their starters play 40 minutes..

The Spurs were 0-4 against Houston in meaningless regular season games, but the Rockets aren't really a playoff-suited team, tbh..poor coach, ISO ball, and Harden is a playoff under-performer..

If the Spurs win game 7 and get Portland, Duncan won't be able to play more than 25 MPG, and Parker is going to get destroyed if he looks the same as he has against the Mavs..
Blazers play big with Lopez and Aldridge. So it is similar to dallas, if we beat Dallas then splitter just had some good training vs nowitzki that's for sure. And Duncan stays on Lopez. Both will get 30+mpg

Content or not, the Spurs misjudged their needs and signed more soft, nonathletic players. Call it a multi-year trend.
The Spurs FO has regular season know-how, but they've lost the ability to discern what it takes to win a le.

How anyone can say that MEM would have been a worse matchup for the Spurs is beyond me. Spurs always struggle with jump shooting teams - see GSW, MAVS. MEM would have been 5 games max because TD, Splitter and Diaw handle Zach and Gasol just fine. It's the perimeter players that give them fits because Parker and Manu MUST play and their defense, especially Manu's, vs the quick, fast players (Reggie Jackson, Harden, etc) is terrible. Instead here we are on the brink of game 7 with DAL smelling blood. Green and Splitter need to play big minutes. No Belli, Bonner, Ayres. Go with whoever is hot and forget your precious rotation, Pop. Play like you're fighting for your life (like all the other playoff teams have been playing).

Anybody that knows something about this team knows that Memphis would have been the easier matchup.
With the way we are playing there is no easy matchup...period.

Regular season wins mean nothing, if you can get at least 50 you're more than likely in the playoffs at that point you need players that have an extra gear.. Right now, we do not.

I don't know. With Pop's rotations and defensive assignments the Grizzlies could average 100+. Just look at '11. Sam Young was unstoppable.
