Forget the easy series talk.
Spurs in 6 or 7.
If it goes 7, no way we lose. It took LeBron to play crazy good to beat us IN MIAMI.
Forget the easy series talk.
Spurs in 6 or 7.
I just hope that we win and hit a meaningless three in Batum's face in the last game of the series.
Spurs in 5 or 7. If the series end in 6, it's the Blazers winning.
We have Patty![]()
^ this, tbh
You guys are completely underrating the Trailblazers. They're playing awesome ball right now, and the Spurs will need to play better basketball to beat them in a series than they played against the Mavs.
And you seem to be underrating the Spurs just us much.
Spurs in 6.
Did you watch Game 7? If the Spurs play anything remotely close to how they played today, they will smash the Blazers.
Damien Lillard is going to feast on us, we have never been able to guard him. They have essentially a bigger, lankier, more dependable jump shooting Kawhi. And LA can guard Duncan better than anyone the Mavs have, and let's not forget how ridiculous LA plays against us.
Green has been great on Lillard whenever he's been on him. The problem is that Pop doesn't like going to that matchup very often. Batum is a big guard more than he's a small forward. I don't think he and Leonard are very similar. I want LA to guard Duncan. Aldridge is a younger Dirk. The Spurs are better equipped to defend him than any team in the league.
I have no idea how people can think Portland's a matchup problem. Can they win? Sure. But they don't look better on paper at all.
Blazers will be a tougher opponent than the mavs.
@ they have the same players that the mavs without the bench.
This team is full of young leg, they have great 4th quarter players mainly Batum / Lillard
spurs will need to play with same kind of focus and intensity than during game 7
pretty accurate, Though Robinson and Williams are solid. The foreign legion should have much better series against Portland
There's a key difference between Dallas and Portland. If Lillard=Ellis and Aldridge=Dirk, Dallas had the advantage of letting Ellis play off the ball. He was able to be a secondary creator. Lillard is both the primary perimeter creator and primary scorer. It should be much easier to shut down Lillard than Ellis because Portland can't just swing the ball and run essentially the same play with another guard. Portland is going to live or die by what Lillard can do against whomever the Spurs put on him.
It depends on which TP we get.
I think this first round struggle against Dallas is just what the Spurs needed, a little tune up. Tony looked fine so hopefully the ankle won't be an issue going forward.
Every series from here on out will go 7. You should have that expectation from the outset. This Blazers team is REALLY good.
