Mugen, you're one of the rare few who stood up for me concerning that Game 6 thread debacle. I fully approve not only this thread but also future threads in this series as well.

No prob, scrah. I start game threads very rarely and am only starting this one since we had good luck on my b-day last season. I have no plans for starting any more especially if the Spurs lose on Tuesday, so have it tbh

No thanks, I already had my moment in the sun and it almost burned me alive dealing with trolls and DPG.

Yeah it's pretty interesting to read fan takes from other teams.

Like, magnifier has literally no idea of what he's talking about and it's pretty clear that he hasn't seen a single spurs game outside of the ones played against portland

Oh so you are saying splitter is a better defender than Howard? Hmm well I guess we can end this conversation now. We aren't talking about unicorns here
He's clearly too caught up in the naive, surface fan mentality that Dwight Howard is some perennial DPOY-type "defender" where "defense" is considered to be a genous, unitary feature that is most prominently captured by a stat like blocks per game or something.

Splitter's movement on help rotations for PnR defense is absolutely impeccable.

I mean, step one is to realize that there are multiple facets to "defense" which seems to be a concept that eludes magnifer661.

Like, if you watched 10-15 spurs and rockets games (not necessarily against each other) you'd know that there are several aspects of defense where Splitter far outshines dwight howard, and vice versa.

There's one thing that Jeff McDonald does that pisses me off to no end.

He'll highlight offensive and/or defensive struggles or successes to mentally fragile players, and it always seems to screw up their rhythm.

For example, Danny Green is an extremely mentally fragile player. He's highly suggestible. If you bring up the fact that he's struggling and imply that he needs to shoot better for the team to win, that makes him nervous and uneasy. How many times have we heard Danny try to distance himself from a role in which he's expected to hit open 3s in lieu of one in which he's merely expected to "hustle and play defense" and any offense he gives is a "bonus" in his mind? Every ing time Jeff McDonald brings up Danny's offensive struggles, I feel like ripping his hair out. It's like Jeff enjoys sabotaging our chances at a ring.

He needs to ing stop ing with our young, mentally fragile players' heads and just ask his usual stupid, trite interview questions that nobody really gives a about.

Like how ing autistic do you have to be to not pick this up? Don't ever tell Danny that he's struggling and that he needs to get out of a shooting slump for the team to win. He will fold. He can't handle that kind of pressure. He shoots best when he thinks he doesn't need to shoot well for the spurs to win.

What's this I read about Tiago tweaking his left leg on nba.com? I hope not. He takes FOREVER to recover from any little injury.

Mike Monroe is an example of an excellent reporter. He understands these nuances and he'll often frame his questions to boost player morale.

If Pop says something nice about a struggling player, he'll deliberately bring that up during interview questions. "Pop said you did did an excellent job at blah blah blah, <insert related question>..."

I'm glad Mike won that lifetime achievement award or whatever it was. Well-deserved.

Jeff could learn a thing or two..or twenty, from Mike.

Farewell everyone. Go Spurs Go. It's been a good run, but I'm calling it quits on this site for good. I'm confident this will be a much better place without my posting anyway (LOL). Farewell to all of you, and BELIEVE in this team!

P.S. Ignore all the crappy posters downstairs. They wish they were Spurs fans. Stay away from that abyss.

+10000 and take No Lyf3 -funnel with you on the way out. That way we'll have two less Manu s ting up the place with their infuriatingly stupid homer takes on how well Manu is playing.
