The big-time favorites won, the Wizards and Blazerrs winning were not surprises, and the Nets were considered better than the Raptors anyway. So all this talk about this being like March Madness and the best first round ever is worthless because in the end the favorites are still alive and there are too many teams in the playoffs.

There were 8 overtime games, many of the games were great, and 5 series went down to the wire. It was exciting all the way through, tbh, and thats all you can ask for. the results are moot, considering the quality of the games we saw along the way

The first round was like when you're really horny and masturbating and about to explode but the explosion ain't that great and after it, you're basically saying "that's it?".

By that logic, the Pelicans are a worthless team with only a division banner to show for after 26 years.

I could see Clippers-Blazers, or OKC-Blazers, or Clippers-Spurs, but the rest is probably correct.

Stop ing. This is the best first round in a long ass time. Any other year and you would be complaining "but there aren't enough game 7's and overtimes"

The favorites ended up winning despite everything. I filled out a playoff bracket and got 7 out of 8 correct--the only outlier being Portland winning their series against Houston.

Easiest 'upset' picks for me were Washington over Chicago and Brooklyn over Toronto. Chicago had no offense to speak of and Toronto had no stars, no experience, and played just a selfish brand of basketball. I didn't even think those teams would compete. Toronto competing and almost winning their series to me says NOTHING about them and everything about Brooklyn...and not in a good way.

Still can't believe Houston lost their series. IMO they got robbed in game 1 and game 4. Game 1 Howard should have been at the line with 11 seconds left shooting 2 down 1 after Freeland pulled him down...but instead Howard got called for the foul and Freeland shot 2, making 1, and leading to a James Harden miss and Portland win by 2. And game 4 Mo Williams was CLEARLY out of bounds while 'saving' a ball late that would end up in a Mo Williams 3 to put Portland up 1, and lead to a close win.

But yeah. Pretty pointless round 1 otherwise. Everyone won who was supposed to--it just took longer to get there. If I was a conspiracy theorist I'd say the NBA rigged some of these series to make them last longer...thus driving up ratings and $$$ for the teams. But nah...

The game 7s were predictably bad. Both the Hawks and Mavs shat the bed and didn't even try. Monkeyball got the calls as usual. Thunder got bailed out on an Eddie Winslow suspension. The lone exception was the Nets-Craptors.

I thought the calls were fairly even through 3 quarters, but the Clippers were the benficieries in the 4th due to home cooking, attacking the paint and not settling on jumpers.
