I don't think he meant that he takes painkillers for street games, but as professional athletes, it's available for them. lol That'd be hilarious though, if someone actually gave that much of a about pick up games.
ankle injuries are fine to deal with, anybody who plays pick up knows... just take painkiller shots and its over with, it doesn't hinder your movement or jumping ability
