Damn Mark
Mavs Could Be Interested In Trade For Tyson Chandler
May 06, 2014 1:28 PM EDT
The Dallas Mavericks may be interested in trading for Tyson Chandler if the New York Knicks make him available.
The Mavericks' decision to let Chandler walk in free agency in 2011 after their le win has been one of the most controversial decisions of Mark Cuban's tenure as owner. The Mavericks were pessimistic about how Chandler would age during the contract, while also wanting to preserve their cap space for a run at Dwight Howard and either Chris Paul or Deron Williams.

Trying to get the band back together.
Pulling the old plans out of the trash...
What's next, bringing back the fossils of Steve Nash, Josh Howard, and Ericka Dampier?![]()
how's he desperate when chandler fits the mavs needs perfectly.
Cuban is gonna have to fight gnsf upstairs over the rights to this nig.
Maybe 2 years ago.
Chandler's turned into a soft statpadder who's constantly out of position on defense in New York, and more to the point, Cuban's trying to correct his biggest mistake when the damage has already long since been done....
Just sign Jim Jackson and Popeye Jones and call it an offseason![]()
No wonder Michael Finley was sitting next to Cuban at the games
Lol, kinda like rockets releasing Lin just to resign him. Just stick with your decisions folks
Uhhh no it's nothing like that.
He's better than what they have now. Plus there are no bad players in the NBA, just bad fits. Monta Ellis was more effective in Dallas than he ever was in Golden State and Milwaukee. Not saying Big Daddy Tyson is as good as he was in 2011, but he's an upgrade over the they've run out at C since he left.
I actually like the move if he can get Chandler cheap enough to be able to sign Deng or Ariza. The Mavs wouldn't have near the same defense they did in 2011, but they'd be much better than they were this year, and Tyson at least was an awesome PnR center, which fits right in with their current offense. And it's not like he was awful on defense last year. His 102 DRtg is pretty good, considering how bad the Knicks were by that same metric.
So long as Dallas isn't giving up more than a token sweetener, I think it's fine.
If you're on an NBA roster you are roughly one of the top 450 players in the world.
I see your point. this is true. Ayres would probably dominate a YMCA league or even a minor euro league.
, didn't BOnner win a dunk contest in his home state![]()
this
hes a moron for letting him walk, but a healthy chandler on this years squad, and they win 54+ games.
Need to get JJB and that Lincoln back in Dallas as well, then Dallas = Restacked :hungry :hungry
Get it done, Mark![]()
As spurfans, why would we want that doe?
Dallas IS counting on Dejaun Blair right now.
