I laid out why McD deserved the award. I agree with you guys that RC deserved the award in the past, but this seems like a very strange year to give it to him, since all he did was keep a Finals team intact.

Suns fans worship at the foot of McD. We wanted to see our fearless leader get his recognition.
    He will.

It was getting so late in the game, that I despaired of RC ever getting one. I think that the fact that the big FA signing of the summer was that putz Howard left the field wide open. Beli was also a better signing than people credit. He allowed Manu to rest and essentially play off him, instead of having to do ALL the playmaking and MOST of the scoring for the bench.

If it makes you feel any better, Bryan Colangelo has two of them. That in itself almost invalidates the award.

He is being an idiot. Even if McDonough might have been a better choice, no one really wants to discuss it with him.
Not being an idiot. Being accurate, even in a hyper trollish manner.

Why not? He turned a ty team into arguably the 2nd best team in the East.

If anything, I'd be mad at my GM for putting my team in a crappy position for a team in the NBA, not good enough for the playoffs and not crappy enough for a good lottery pick.

    .
this is a good point actually

They have a 190mil payroll and are about to be swept in the 2nd round....

Going from a team that lost in 7 in the first round last year to a team that gets swept in the 2nd round this year isn't much of an accomplishment.....

The 48 Win Phoenix Suns team would probably be 2nd or 3rd best team in the East tbh

Suns fans acting like RC hipchecked a guy into the scorer's table and provoked dudes to leave the immediate vicinity of the bench resulting in the NBA imposing a playoff suspension that likely cost their team a series and a le.

    Like that ever happened.
You want me to pull up the thread from that time where you lamented that you wished SpursFan was more like ME?!

    I'm pissed. Its bull .

Don't become just another SpursFan reveling wrong for the sake of fandom. I'm right, even if trolling, and while I openly acknowledge Buford is worthy, he's not this year, not like others, especially McDonough.

this is a good point actually
It's bull . The point is to be compe ive. He maximized every trade, and save for injury, conference affiliation, or playoff alignment, he'd have taken a bottom-5 team to top-11 in one offseason, while actually building a future, not sacrificing it. He constructed a team that finished 14 seeds better than the direct season prior. Not 14 wins. Seeds.

    It's incredible.

McD did the following in last year's off-season:

    Traded:

Jared Dudley + 2nd round pick --> Eric Bledsoe
Luis Scola --> Gerald Green + Miles Plumlee + 1st round pick
    Marcin Gortat + Shannon Brown + Kendall Marshall --> Emeka Okafor's $14mil expiring + 1st round pick

    Hired Jeff Hornacek as coach

So basically he inherited a 25-win team with one of the worst rosters in the NBA, flipped a bunch of non-stars into a couple of 1st round picks and Eric Bledsoe, hired a coach of the year candidate, and turned the Suns into a 48-win team in the Western conference. His moves put our rebuilding efforts about 3 years ahead of schedule.

This is clearly a lifetime achievement award for RC, but McDonough got straight robbed here. Pop over Hornacek is understandable, if debatable. This is the first award this postseason I feel like they got completely wrong.
All of that and you did not make the playoffs. Go ahead and overrate Plum and Bledsoe some more please. You really should act more like those first round picks aren't in the 20s. Scola, Gortat and Dudley at least made the playoffs.

Further, the awards are not determined on the basis of a single year. The effects that trades have take years to manifest. I do not think you could have evaluated the Leonard trade well the year it was made for example.

Quite frankly after those Nash MVPs several years ago I have to say that Sunfan whining about undeserved awards is hilarious. Now complain about Stoudemire et al being suspended for idiocy and how means the league hates the Suns and our day can be complete. Suns tear are delicious.

Maximized. In each of those trades, the team you traded to made the postseason. You did not. You maximized a lottery pick.

Hahaha. Thanks for playing. Every team, save for maybe Wizards, would undo the trades in a heartbeat.

Objective truth: Clippers, Pacers, and Wizards are all in their conference's semifinals. The Suns are a lottery team.

    Typical Sunfan bull wishful thinking:

Hahaha. Thanks for playing. Every team, save for maybe Wizards, would undo the trades in a heartbeat.
You really think they would change the chemistry that has each of those teams in the second round? Uh-huh. . .

I get why you have to make up: what you know to be true is not very appealing.

And each one of them are 22 or later. It is deep because even the Suns own lottery pick if slotted accordingly is a safe pick. That is not the same as finding sure starters at the end of the round.

Funny how my rage was delayed for like 10 hours huh.

I'm pissed. Yeah. It's bull . But had banter not started back, it have begun and ended with that first post. Everyone got Bufordhurt and I opted to pass the time.

It is bull , however. And everyone knows it.
