Its such an asset to have him in our team, I really hope we can keep him
George Hill![]()
Great thread, will reccommend it to my friends and family and read again.
George Hill will you up
One of the best Spurs trades of all time.
show never gets old.
we all know we got the better end of the deal, but I still like George Hill (he played a nice game 2 last night) and really would like him in our second unit when Manu is handling the ball
Off-season type thread tbh.
At best..
But he's such a blabber mouth.

Hill is a great defender but I'm not sure he's fit for starting PG duties. He's a fantastic backup but he struggles against pressure bringing the ball up the court, and did so in the playoffs as well. He also has a tendency to disappear in games.
Patty might not be quite the player that Hill is, but he's a very competent backup in his own right. I don't see him make a lot of stupid turnovers and his ball handling skills are really underrated by SpursTalk. How many guys do you find that go from end of the bench to substantial scorer and a top 10 3 point shooter in the league? It just doesn't happen that often.
I think Patty is going to detonate for at least a couple of games in these playoffs. We could have used his explosive offense against Dallas, but Carlisle really did everything he could to limit our perimeter game in that series -- one of the reasons Duncan and Tiago absolutely smashed the Mavs on D was because they stayed at home and played hard rotations all series long, leading to stuff like Carter and Ellis on Splitter.
Really hoping Patty breaks out tonight. He could use the confidence and it would be a big blow to the Blazers to realize they have one more weapon to deal with.
... What was the thread topic again?
What GH has going for him is that he plays the game the right way, most of the time. He just doesn't have the handles or the court vision that a PG needs, and cannot be a scoring or passing PG. He's just a place holder for the ball that can occasionally score. If the rest of the team played like him however, they'd probably be in better shape.
rascal steal of a trade came thru
George hill d there is not what it is in sa
There really are no elite defensive point guards in the league anymore. They seem to all be too small to fight around screens consistently, or too slow. The modern offense is so geared around picks that it really limits what PGs can do on D.
Rondo is pretty good defensively
kawhi fits perfectly with the spurs. he's quiet and media-shy. why would he want to go anywhere else? unless it's a cali team.
Kawhi seems like he's been more animated on the court in these playoffs so far.
I've seen him bark at officials on a few occasions and react to calls, and he seems to actually acknowledge that things are going well at times, too.
