They wouldn't beat the Celtics or Lakers, 50/50 on the Spurs

07-08 Celtics were the best team followed by next year's Lakers IMO.

The Spurs and Lakers would murder them inside. I don't know how anyone could think different when a 37 year-old Duncan came one rebound from beating them last year.

They would easily beat the Lakers, since realistically speaking, Kobe would probably attempt to be the star against Lebron/Three, rather than using the frontcourt mismatch, tbh..

Easily > the 2010 Celtics and 2008 Celtics, as Lebron almost beat them all by himself in those years..

They would destroy the 2003 Spurs, since they were the worst le team of the bunch..Duncan would murder Miami, but the supporting cast was the weakest ever for a superstar player..

Lebron completely owns the Pistons, tbh..

The 2005 and 2007 Spurs would give them trouble, though..Duncan would probably average 40 per game, tbh, and the Spurs could have moved the ball well against Miami..

I missed the 03 spurs, they would tie with the Celtics tbh.

I'm not so sure the Celtics would beat them. Not sure past his prime Garnett could punish them the way Prime Duncan or MVPau+Prime Bynum would do.

They dropped off the year after they won the championship, but during 07-08 that team played the best defense I had ever seen post 2000. I know that the Lakers beat them the following year when Bynum played, but I think it had to just as much to do with the Cs not maintaing that same defensive intensity.

with the way you talk about miami's cast, you'd think leBron still is by himself

I'm referring to the 2012 Heat in these arguments..

The 2013 Heat probably lose to all minus the 2003 Spurs, as Lebron was essentially a 1-man team with a little more support than Duncan of that year..

depends which pau shows up. but iirc, cleveland always had the lakers numbers in the regular season. on paper, the lakers would stomp on miami, but this would be kobe's ultimate wet dream to outshine lebron which means the lakers total game plan is thrown out the window.

he brings the most valuable, no doubt. my issue with pau has always been his approach and consistency.

    I'm scoring it

    - 2008 Celtics too strong. Heat defeat the 2010 C's

    - Lakers had too much size

    - Heat might defeat the later Spurs teams but David Robinson + Duncan is too strong downlow

    - Pistons is a toss up. Depends which ERA the defense is being called. If it's the mid 2000's which saw a return to physical play then the Pistons would win but in todays ERA the Heat would probably come out victorious.

I don't see it. Like Harlem pointed out above, they were really fortunate to survive Game 7 against James in 08 back in the pre Mo Williams days when his best teammate was literally Delonte West.

I still think James dragging those horrible Cavs teams into being contenders every year is way more impressive than his back to back les.

this is interesting. A lot of people are quick to call the 2011 Mavericks one of the weakest/flukiest le teams of all time for some reason, yet they're not picking many of these teams to beat the Heat even though Dallas did?

I'm curious where people rank those Mavericks then. They weren't outright the most dominant team (only one game in their run did they win by more than 12 points and everyone knows which game that was ) but they were one of the most clutch teams ever imo and had a brutal road to the le

I didn't list them just because it was a 1-year run.

They will always be remembered for their shooting, especially from the 3 point line. But I'm a firm believer of shooting being streaky. I'll always prefer a team with a strong post game.

Winning back2back is the hardest thing to do in Sports. Unless James takes it this year, it's still us.

Who other than bitter Lakerfan thinks the 11 Mavs were a weak le team? They had maybe the toughest playoff run since the 95 Rockets.
