These are the only two locks on the list tbh. Everybody else has strong arguments though.
Yeah, the HOF has no standards nowadays, shame.
If I have to pick one who doesn't deserve induction it's CP3.
Chauncey Billups loves your train of thought.
He deserves to be there too. Took the Pistons to 6 straight ECFs and then took the nuggets to the WCF as soon as he was traded there. Deff. the player that made all the difference.
Chauncey has no other credentials outside of NBA. TP is an accomplished European player. Those kind of accomplishments plus his FMVP and being an integral part of a team that won 4 les means a lot.
Heck, If Reggie Miller could make it, everyone with a decent all star career is a shoo-in.![]()
So can we start using NBA players' college careers for their legacies? Since most top level American colleges are better than almost any foreign team.
The NBA HOF is a lot better selected than MLB--not that is a hall of fame that is a joke. I would say w/o a doubt you'd put The Truth, Nash, and Ray Allen as inducted. Probably won't be 1st ballow HoF for Pierce and Allen, but they'll get in. Pierce toiled in the cesspool that was the Celtics in the Toine Walker era and held it together during the post-Toine era. Nash for commanding some great Suns and Mavs teams. He'll probably be a 1st ballot but it wouldn't mean that he'll actually go in on the first go. Ray Allen for his clutch 3-point shooter and being almost automatic from that range will get in. I don't think first but second ballot...probably.
I think there can be stronger arguments made against CP3, Vince Carter, and Melo being inducted. The rest are locks to make it.
It's always been taken into consideration. They use it for no name former NBA/ABA players to justify their selection. Wilkes, Walker, Ralph Samson comes to mind.
If Bernard King could make it, Vince Carter who put Toronto in the map will make it.
One of the worst takes I've ever read on Spurstalk and that's saying a lot.
depends if you talk about deserve or if they are a lock
Prove it.
They are already using college careers contribution for the HoF so what's your point ?
Parker is btw a lock to make it, if he deserves it or not is another topic.. it depends on what criteria you want to use...
if you follow the logic of really major contribution to the sport you probably limit the list to 20-30 guys max
btw when you are posting : Manu - only if you count his international career against ty foreigners
I believe you are forgetting the olympics unless USA team was made of ty foreigners
I think CP3 will eventually make it though. After all, he's the leader of a team that fought and won against racism.![]()
He'll definitely make it just based on regular season stats, just like Nash and Wince Carter, though none of them will deserve it![]()
...grouping Nash with the rest
People forget how well he played in the post season, unlike Choke Paul.
